Babies: 9 - 12 Months

11 Month Old, Nap and bottle Question . .

Hi all,

DH and I are having some issues with Naps and I think it has to do with her dropping one of her two naps and going down to 1 nap a day.  She has been extremely iratable and just trying to figure out the new DD. .  so to speak.

so, my questions with the nap is when did your DC drop down to one nap a day?

so my bottle question is that DD isn't taking a bottle. . 3 ounces in the morning and maybe about the same in the evening.  She doesn't ask for her middle bottle. and last night she went down without taking an evening bottle.  I've started to put formula in her sippy cup to try and get the formula intake and I've also (from today) is starting to transition her to whole milk .  did 2 ounces of whole milk and 5 ounces of formula.

When did you wean your DC off the bottles and second, how much formula are they taking at this age?

TIA!

  • I don't think my response is going to be very helpful for you.

Ben is 11 months today.  He still takes 2 naps a day.  He is still on bottles and eats between 36-40oz/day.  He's not doing tablefoods yet b/c they make him gag and throw up.  He gets baby cereal w/ fruit mixed in twice a day and a veggie at lunch.

  • DS is almost 11 months and he is starting to transition to one nap.  Every couple of days he will only take one, but he doesn't seem ready to do it every day yet.

DS drinks about 16-20 oz of formula a day.  The only way I can get him to have more is to put it in his oatmeal.  He just doesn't want it much anymore.  DS does fine with a sippy, but I still don't plan to wean him off bottles any time soon.

  • Spin313, she is allergic to oatmeal and rice cereal, so she won't eat any other it. . and i've decreased the amount of food she is getting, but that doesn't increase her formula intake.  She was teething at the end of December, she has decresed her own formula intake . . she was drinking 32 oz a day in December and now I'm lucky if I get her to drink 15 ounces (in bottles).  For example, she woke up this morning and drank 3 1/2 ounces.
  • I am no help either. ?DD is 11 1/2 months and still taking four bottles a day of around 7 ounces each. ?Sometimes, she will drink half the bottle and want to play for a few minutes and then after about 10-15 minutes will drink the rest of the bottle. ? She is still taking two naps (for me anyway). Her 3 days at daycare she always takes crappy naps, but still good ones at home. ?She eats breakfast, lunch and dinner - although not a lot at each sitting. ?I would try to up the fluid intake. ?I know it is hard (when DD was sick she wouldn't eat or drink), but I would think 15 oz is too little. ?

  • We've done the introducing the bottle again and she still pushes it away..  . and i can give her an 7 or 8 ounce bottle and she throws it at me . . and will only drink a certain amount.  She isn't sick now and still won't drink the formula like she did prior to being sick.
