You're going to hear a lot of different answers, so there really isn't one "best." I personally love the One A Day Prenatal vitamins, since they include a DHA supplement with them. My OB also recommended them to me before we even started trying.
I'm taking GNC's prenatal formula with iron. From what I've read, the most important thing is to look for at least 1000 mcg of folic acid. My OB approved my vitamin choice, although I have a script for when I run out.
I have always had a hard time digesting vitamins of any kind (even if i took them with food, i would feel?nauseous). I first had my doc prescribe chewable pregnancy vitamins which were easy on my stomach. That sort of became a hassle and found some great prenatals at Whole Foods. The brand is "Rainbow Light" and I believe is organic (which normally I really don't care if food is organic or not) but they are labeled as "easy on the stomach). I have not had any problems with them whatsoever....
There are lots out there to choose from, I was taking Solgar Pre-natal nutrients until my docs appt. They wrote me a script for Duet DHA. You can call them for a recommendation or just to flat out ask for a script. If you are not going to start a pre-natal right of way, at least take a folic acid supplement until you get on a pnv.

Re: Best OTC Prenatal Vitamins?
just bought rainbowlite from whole foods this weekend. I like that they are natural. and easy on the stomach.
I would also reccomend "Rainbow Light"
Organic, all natural, easy on the stomach. I've never had a hard time with them.
I used Target brand with my first pregnancy-
i also took with it 400 mg of folic acid- recommended by my Dr.
