Activity Mat: Rainforest or Baby Einstein

My step-mother just visited and gave us a Fisher Price Rainforest playmat and her boss gave us the Baby Einstein Seek and discover activity gym. I can't decided which one to keep (or keep both and bring one to MIL's where she's watced twice a week).

Do you have either of these?  Why do you like/ dislike it?

  • We have the rainforest one and I like it fine.  She just really started enjoying it recently though.

  • We have the Baby Einstein one, and so far it seems pretty good.  DS is still too little to really play with it yet, but he likes to stare at all the toys, especially the sun on top.  I haven't really seen the FP one, so I can't compare.
  • they both are great. my mom has the FP RF at her house, and DD loves it...its her favorite...we have BE at home and she likes it too...
  • forgot to add: i would take one to your MIL's...it's great that my mom has one...we take ours back and forth to IL's
  • We love our BE one...DD stares at the sun and just loves it. I'd go with lights for sure (maybe rainforest has lights too...not sure).

  • I have the rain-forest and it does not have lights. DS loves it. He is crazy obsessed with the butterfly's on it to. I would take one to your moms and leave one at your house. Maybe you can even trade back and forth so it is kinda different for him.
  • We have the FP Rainforest mat, and it does have lights. He LOVES it and will lay there for a good 1/2 hour playing with it. He's just starting to grab at the toys-- we did have to put in extra links to bring them closer to our LO, as he was getting mad that he couldn't reach.
  • I have the rainforest one.  He loves it in the morning.  We got another activity mat and decides to keep it in the family room.  He likes both.
