Where do you pump at work?

Re: Where do you pump at work?

  • I'd like to know too.  My office is small and the only place to be alone would be the conference room (not private) or the bathroom (ew).  I plan on talking to my job about finding an appropriate spot, but I don't know if there is much they can do.

  • Check your state laws.  Here in Minnesota workplaces are required to have a room with a locking door set aside for pumping mothers.  Ours is really nice.  It has books and magazines to read and a mirror to make sure you are back together when you are done.

  • We have a room it is really a dusty azz closet. The are repairing our roof right now and it is closed off. I have to do it in my office and the blinds are not very good whe I came back off of leave they gave me a *** office :(. I am sure I have been giving everyone a show today. I cant even go in the bathroom here if I wanted there are no plugs.
  • My classroom (I'm a teacher).

My sister pumps in her car or standing up in the bathroom =( b/c she doesn't have an office at work. She's never talked to her manager though to see if they would provide her a space.

  • I pump in my car

  • I work at a nice small salon & spa.  I only work with 3 other women so I pump in a little bathroom that only us employees use.

I like doing it there cuase I can lock the door and its private.

  • The lactation rooms (I work in a hospital), thank goodness...I even get to use their Symphony.  I probably would have to quit BF if it weren't for those rooms...there is absolutely nowhere else I could pump.

  • My company provides a room for moms to pump in.  You just have to schedule a time.  They also provide a hospital grade pump.  You only need to have the tubing and shields.
  • I pump in my office. There's no lock on the door though, so my boss walked right in one day. Luckily I hadn't started yet. I work in an office of all men, so since then I've made it abundantly clear to everyone that if my door is closed no one is to interrupt me. There's nothing so important that it can't wait the 10 minutes it takes me to pump.
