Well, Karo syrup isn't working...

I really dont think DS will ever poop on his own again. It will be 2 weeks tomr that he has been constipated. He has pooped but we have had to "help" him by using the rectal thermometer and his poop is hard and green. Pedi said to use Karo syrup and he pooped yesterday on his own but nothing since then and it sounds like he's been trying off and on all day. I think this weekend, we'll try prune juice but I really don't think he's ever gonna go again on his own. Haha. Poor thing.

karo didnt work for us either and prune juice is nasty

have you tried pear or apple juice?

No I havent. Our pedi said he doesnt like giving juice but just said to use prune juice.

Do you use pear or apple juice for babies or regular?

use the juice in the baby aisle 1 oz or 2 wont hurt

my pedi said it was fine to relieve constipation

We've had the same problem for the past 3 weeks. DD will only go with a suppository. We started 1/4 tsp milk of magnesia yesterday. The pedi said if that doesn't help he will have to do a rectal exam.

We've tried karo/water, prune, pear & apple juice diluted. Rectal temp, massage, warm bath, warm compresses, bicycles. Everything!

We've had this same problem all week. Yesterday Pedi told me 2 tsp of prune juice mixed in with formula and it did the trick! She went last night and this afternoon...and we didnt have the grunting episode we usually do!

There are suppositories for infants you can get over the counter at your local drug store. Those work wonders.

We've had that problem once since DD has been home. Our pedi recommended glycerin suppositories for her. We haven't had to use them yet, so I'm unsure if they work.

Are you FF? We had to switch formulas. Good Start worked wonder for his pooping, but made him vomit a lot. Now were using Enfamil Gentlease, and no more issues...thank god. Prune juice worked for us, but we had to gibe it to him a few times a day. We mixed it 1oz juice, 1 oz water. Good Luck!
