Why is Obama so determined to kill babies?

I know this is extreme, and I will be flamed (but I'm used to that) -

"President Obama on Friday is expected to lift a ban on federal funding for international groups that promote or perform abortions, reversing a policy of his predecessor, George W. Bush."

I'm so happy that my tax dollars are going to be used to pay for abortions - and that essentially, these countries will use abortion as population control.....how about more money for birth control education? (and I say that even as a Catholic).

How long before we have NO restrictions on abortions when he passes the Freedom of Choice Act.

I've said it before - even though I am pro-life, doesn't mean I think abortion should be banned - I don't think my beliefs should be enforced on those who don't hold those same beliefs.....but we need some restrictions and regulations here.

I will side with you... although I believe in a woman's right to choose and I believe in federally subsidized clinics who provide low cost birth control, I do not believe I should have to pay for someone's abortion.

Normally I stay out of these discussions but LindsayMarieG worded what I was thinking perfectly. I do NOT believe Abortion should be banned but I also don't believe my tax dollars should go to pay for someone elses abortion.

My (extremely pro-choice) mom CHOSE to have me. She was not FORCED to have me as some would like to do. If she hadn't had me she might have had a happy and fulfilling life. Instead she was saddled down with two kids with a loser. It turned out fine in the end, but who is anyone else to tell her what she should do?

first, if my mom aborted me, i would never know it...

second, i think that funding is important in the fact that if a young girl gets knocked up and doesn't have the cash to abort if she wants to, she will find an alternative method of aborting (which is why abortions became legal in the first place, to replace the back-alley abortions)

and if unable to make this happen, ingesting who knows what to try to kill this little baby, which could lead to some sort of defect. all the while the baby feeling nothing but hate and animosity from the mother it is growing inside.

third, if she does carry to term and delivers and leaves her baby to die alone and cold in a dumpster, i feel i would much rather of paid for her to abort.

If I'm not mistaken, it's lifting the oh-so-dumb ban on funding to groups that even teach or talk about abortion as a form of bc (which, btw, it is).

But if you equate that with "killing babies", go ahead. I guess you can adopt the woman in a 3rd world country who is pregnant with her 7th child that she can't afford.

I find it incredibly insulting towards our president and country to make such a statement. So you want to call President Obama a baby killer? All you are doing to displaying a severe degree of ignorance. He is not approving funding for abortions. What he is approving is funding for birth control. Period. That may be one of the options, but it is not the only option.

Secondly, the abstinence-only programs supported by the Bush administration are in no way effective. They are a waste of tax payer money and have not helped cut down on the number of teen pregnancies in this country, nor does it help prevent STDs. If I hear one more time that providing condoms to high school students is condoning them having sex, I am going to scream. They're obviously going ahead with it, anyway. Teaching abstinence is fine, there just need to be measures made to back it up!

Finally, it was my understanding that US troops were originally supposed to be fighting terrorism in Afghanistan. Yet, here we are, another year with our troops fighting for their lives in Iraq. I don't take this lightly. I have family in the military. I don't like knowing that they've been sent there where we weren't supposed to be in the first place.

In the future, please think before you post such an inflammatory thread.
