My very 1st FFFC!

1. I have an insane need to shop. I think it is an addiction. I seriously am considering going back to work just so I have my own money to go shopping, since DH is now tightening the reigns on my spending. Not shopping makes me depressed. And I don't just mean shopping for myself...I want to shop for DD, the house, etc. I hate having to justify every penny spent to DH. But, I would not want to leave DD in someone else's care for too long, so I am torn with what to do.

2. I really wish MIL would stop buying DD clothes. I cringe everytime she comes in with a shopping bag because I know she will pull out one ugly outfit after another. DD does not need $12 bibs or any more ugly summer hats or anything else in Plaid! Thanks.

OK, they were not that juicy, but it felt good to get that off my chest! :)

  • I hear ya on the shopping addiction! My mom actually tried to get me to go to some meetings (yeah, like AA!) but they only have them in San Francisco and New York... Hehe... A shopping intervention... really?! :)

  • Okay you are sooo not alone!  I LOVE shopping.  It is very hard to restrain myself.  If I could go shopping once a week & spend $100, my life would be complete.  We just can't afford to shop much because money is tight!!!  I used to love shopping for myself, but now all I care about is shopping for Noah.  He has the best wardrobe ever lol!

My MIL has horrible taste too!!  When I told her that DD doesn't really need clothes and she needs more toys, she still bought her all clothes!!  Then she gets mad about it!

I save all MIL clothes for DD for when MIL is coming over, she does not wear those clothes at any other time. I have to give myself a pep talk before I even put them on DD everytime! ?Ok, Valarie will only be in this outfit for 2 hours its not a big deal. It will make MIL happy. I cringe while I do it though. MIL buys things that look like a baby born in the depression era would wear. She actually has an outfit with a wreath embroidered on the front it with a cropped cardigan. Ack I hate it sooo much I cant wait until she is too big for it. Then I dont have to feel guilty about it anymore. I have never even put her in it. I cant bear it ack!

  • It hasn't worked all that well - but we've told all the grandparents that DD needs money for her college fund and not clothes or toys.  So, if they want to buy her something think college instead.  It sort of has worked - we get a little $$.
