I am 95% sure I am going to become a SAHM.I am trying to get ideas of all the things that are FREE to do. I wish we could afford gymboree, but that is not an option...even at 60$ a month.
The things I can think of are:
walk the mall
the park
library for story time
what else do you rec?
What do you plan to do for socialization of your child when they get a bit older? We are gonna only have one baby....so that is a thought.
How do you find moms groups?
Thanks a million
Re: SAHMs- activities/recs
I get together with DH's coworkers' wives/kids, and have recently found a local mom's board where they post events and playdates. DS and I went to one this morning, in fact. It was great! We also go to church and he plays in the nursery there.
Don't feel like you have to schedule EVERY day, though. Sometimes a simple 30-min Target trip is all it takes to get me out of the house and stimulate DS so he takes a good nap in the afternoon.
We may also be a one-and-done family, so getting connected now is important to me.

We do the Library every Tuesday. They have a great baby program with songs and little finger play to rhymes. I met mom's here and we met and have coffee once a week.
It is horrible right now here weather wise but when Liam was born (Summer). We went to the park and laid on a blanket I would take my niece and have picnic then we would walk the trails.
Every Thursday of the Month the Theatre has a "Reel Babies" Movie for mom's at 11am.
I just recently attended a Baby Nutrition Class all the moms brought their LO's.
Is there a calendar of events for your City online you might be surprised what there is out there.
