  Google "Toddler Backpacks" and you'll find a bunch. ?Both of my kids have a Stephen Joseph like this

  And I don;t know what your definition of expensive is, but these were about $26 each. ?I'm sure you can find cheaper ones at BRU or Target

  Ditto the recommendation for the Stephen Joseph backpack. My 2yo DD loves hers and it is just the right size for her. Ebay had good deals on them when I got hers.

  PBK toddler backpack wasn't too expensive. I got it personalized and it arrived within a week of my order.  dd has used it for two "school" years.

  Stephen Joseph is the brand I suggested to you on the toddler board. I just didn't know the name. Very, very cute, light, and machine washable!
