How do you find community service/mommy groups?

Is there a good website for any of this?  I used to belong to a gerat community service group in my old hometown, but the Jaycees aren't in htis area.  We're not super religious so I'm not looking for a church.   Any other ideas?  Thanks.

    I looked at meetup.com and only found religious groups in my area. I'm not interested in a group like that either. Not that I have anything against it, but I'm not a good candidate for religious talk--I tend to get heated up about certain things. I'd only end up in a group by myself....

    Meetup.com sucks for me too - but did you hear about the community service program Starbucks has started called Im In?  I don't know the level of "mommy and me" you are looking for - but your area might even offer something that you can do with your LO.  Check out their website - its pretty cool.
