bathing suit saga

Yesterday DH and I were at South Park Mall. I tried on bathing suits while he was at the Apple store. My boobs are now too big for the largest tankini they had (which was a 38DD!!). I was near tears. I guess I should be happy I haven't put weight on elsewhere yet, but it depressed me thoroughly. I told DH I'd have to wear a tent on the beach next month on our vacation.

DH insisted we find a maternity store so I could find something that fit and feel better, which was near the mall, and I found a suit, plus 2 summery dresses, and some maternity tops. The stomach parts are very loose on me, but at least my breasts won't be falling out! Best part. . .everything I got was on sale!?

DH has been great dealing with my mood swings.?

Re: bathing suit saga

  • Where was this store you found?  I've almost melted down numerous times bc all the clothes I see are none too cute.

I'm glad you found stuff bc this I'm stressing over it and it sounds like you made out great

  • It's called Destination Maternity. It's on Sharon Road. They did have some ridiculously expensive stuff, too. Clearance was in the back. They had everything from up to date styles to matronly. Staff was very helpful. They even give you juice or water. . .I felt very taken care of.

  • It was a saga for me too! I ended up finally finding something on line at motherhood. But let me tell you it was no fun! I am glad you finally found a few things. I am dreading suit shopping this year!

  • That sounds like a great store.  I'm going to have to locate it when I come back that direction.
  • Finding clothes was definitely hard and the destination maternity store was a godsend!  BTW - there is a  motherhood maternity outlet at Concord Mills mall as well.  It's good for your basic pieces.

  • A lady that I work with loves Destination Maternity. I never did make it over there, but I've heard they have good clearance stuff. I'm glad you found some clothes and a suit you like because that makes all the difference in the world when you feel like crap.

And enjoy that tankini being loose now. Mine was huge when I bought it this past summer but I put it on the other day to give my dogs a bath and I looked like a stuffed sausage. Not cute at all.

  • In the dressing room they have a strap on belly for the average 7 month pregnant belly. You put it on to see what the clothes will be like when you've got a belly. It was shocking to see how big I'll get so soon!!!

  • I'm honestly thinking I'll need to buy a maternity suit this year, just to fit my boobs into it.
