  I would say it like a-la-na (Short a sounds, not long) because I know someone with that name and that's how they pronounce it.

  a-la-a (like lalala not lay)  That's DD#1's name but we spell it Alannah.  Some people have tried to say a-lan-na (like land without the d in the middle) rather than a-la-na but rarely.  We debated between Alannah and Alayna where Alayna would have been pronounced a-lay-na.  We call her Lana now (pronounced la-na)

  Ditto w/ A-lon-a. If you're going to Elaina or Alaina, you need to change the spelling.

  I've only ever heard 2 possible ways:

  A-'LAN-uh (like Alannah)

  or

  A- LAR-nuh ( like Lana with an extra syllable)

  Alona and Alayna seem way off.?
