I have no clue if I have gained anything....feels like it, but just wondering everyone's experience at first OB....don't want to fall over if I put on a few pounds. That is normal right?
You may just be bloated, which is normal around this time. I always think I've gained weight when I go to the doctor, but remember that they're usually weighing your with your clothes on. I weigh myself naked or in something very light when I'm at home.
I've been weighing myself and I'm up 10 pounds! Go me, lol.

I've read you're supposed to gain about 1 pound/month your first trimester and then 1 pound/week your second and third trimesters. Just averages, obviously, but that gets you to the recommended 25-30 weight gain.
i think it varies from person to person- i think i've read that a healthy 1st tri weight gain is anywhere from 1 lb to 5 lbs-- not much until 2nd tri
i had a doc appt at 10wks and i had only gained 1 lb so far-- only have a lil less than 2 weeks left til i move to 2nd tri so i am hoping i didn't gain a ton between then and now lol---
but this varies from person to person- i wouldn't get hung up on it too much- as long as you are making somewhat healthy choices- i think it also depends on how much you weight you had on you before getting pregnant-- if you were more overweight then you will gain less (supposively) than a person that was underweight (they are to gain more?)
I wouldn't worry - if you say you feel like you've gained, it's probably just feeling bloated... you may put on a few, or lose a few... but until 2nd tri and esp 3rd tri, I wouldn't worry about anything weight-related. Just keep yourself and baby healthy and hydrated.

I lost 3-4 lbs and now I finally put about 2 back on so I am almost back at prepregnancy weight. From bloating though, my stomach is huge and I look like I gained, not lost
Thanks girls.....I weighed myself last week and didn't gain, but my pants feel tight. Sucks! Anyway I am eating healthy and drinking my water. I probably am just bloated. :-)
I have lost 7 lbs, but thats normal. I'm sure i will start gaining soon. i really dont want to gain too much during this pregnancy so I am really watching what I eat. If I don't stop myself I would be living on carbs, its the only thing that really sounds good.
I went to the OB at 6 weeks and weighed in. I went back at 8 wks to meet with dr and no weight change. I just went back on Friday (12w5d) and I've gained about 1.5 lbs. My OB says that my weight is right on target.
Now I am a little nervous all you girls who lost weight. Guess I could just feel bloated and not have gained. My Mom gained 65 pounds with me and I am not feeling that!
It depends on your pre-pregnancy weight. ?If you're at a healthy weight, the chat that I got from my OB says that your weight gain should be between 2-5 pounds total in the first tri. ?I haven't gained anything yet because of m/s and because I've really being trying to eat healthy foods (when I can eat). ?The doctor said not to worry that I haven't gained anything yet. ?Some women even lose weight during the first tri.
I think it's different for everyone, depending on your pre-pg weight and other factors. I haven't gained anything yet, although I feel and look like I have because of the bloat in my mid-section. I guess I may have gained from the bloat but also lost because of m/s, so it's evening out.

Don't feel bad! I must be a fatass after reading everyone else's responses, LOL!

I have actually lost 2 or 3 pounds since I've gotten pregnant! I know it will catch back up to me real soon, tho! It is normal to gain a pound or two in the beginning, just try not to gain too quickly.
I think I gained about 4 lbs from 6 weeks to 10 weeks. I'm going to probably gain a total of 6/7 lbs in my 1st Tri. C'est la vie... I'm not going to sweat it.
I probably had gained about a pound at that point in time. But now I feel huge. Especially after this weekend. I don't know what happened but now everything seems tight! I started out at 125 and the last time I weighed myself I was up two pounds....but after this weekend I am afraid to weigh myself again. I have been eating like crazy because I am starving all the time. For the most part I am making healthy choices. And I have been working out every day, sometimes taking a walk and going to the gym. I guess there is nothing you can do, just go with it and do your best!

Re: How much weight is normal to gain at 7/8 weeks?
I did not gain anything until week 15 and at that point it was only 2lb's.
Everyone with gain differently some will even lose weight during 1st tri.?
