Parenting after a Loss

Took pedi's advice... Lilly's sleeping in crib!

While I was out geting my hair done yesterday morning my mom put Lilly down for a nap in her crib and amazingly she's doing just fine in there!  Her nursery is also the guestroom, so my mom was in there with her last night, which means we haven't actually gone through a night with her in there alone, but so far so good!  I am amazed!

She sleeps on her side in there and seems to be so much happier than on her back in the bouncy seat.  Out of nowhere she stopped tolerating the PNP on her back a couple weeks ago, so this is such a great step for her!  And just in time for her 1month check up Weds.  Now I won't have to lie to the pedi about where she's sleeping:)

  • that's great!

we have yet to make the leap to the crib.  We tried a nap in there today, but it failed miserably!  He was put in the crib sound asleep, and within 5 minutes, wide awake.  we could hear him cooing through the monitor.... so freaking cute.

  • That's great!!! I hope to have Emma in her crib before 1 month too.  I cannot believe Lilly is almost a month!
  • My son does great at night in the crib, but doesn't like to nap in there. So just because he won't nap in the crib, you might have great success at night. Just thought I would let you know what works for us. Best of luck.
  • Our peanut is still sleeping in her car seat - we have tried naps in both the PNP (which vibrates so we thought she would like it, she likes movement) and the crib with no luck - she was fine for about 30 min and then woke up.   Hmph.   I plan to ask the pedi about it at our appt Wednesday.   I'm nervous that she'll never make the switch.

  • That's great!  Aidan has slept in his crib since we brought him home and he sleeps so well in there!  He doesn't sleep in there for naps (yet) but sleeps in there at night.
  • Yep, that's kind of what her pedi said.  In fact, he said to just go ahead and leave her out in her bouncy seat or wherever during the day, but have her in the crib at night so she knows the difference between night and day.  We'll see about that;)
  • I leave Emma where she is when she fall asleep during the day. Right now she's asleep on her playmat. LOL :) Emma has been doing gerat in the crib- she's been in there for almost 2 weeks now. The last 4 nights she's STTN! :)

  • That is great, ours slept so good once we made the move but it was so hard to do it.

  • Umm... I am so jealous. If we could get Leo in his freaking bassinet NEXT to our bed, let alone anywhere outside of our room, it would be a miracle.

Will you come to my house and work your magic?

  • Sueball and MoinMoin, I owe it allllll to my mom!  I would've put it off for weeks and weeks, but she just went ahead and did it while I was gone.  I'll have her stop by your houses to work her magic;)

Now, the question is... will Lilly continue to sleep in the crib AFTER Grandma leaves tomorrow???
