Babies on the Brain

3rd L&D trip in 3 days

These children are trying to tell me something I think.

Yesterday they doubled my Procardia dosage because the low dose wasn't doing a very good job of keeping the contractions at an acceptable level.  Well the high dosage FVCKED my heartrate this morning.  15 minutes after taking it I calculated it in the 150s, along with dizziness, weakness, chest pain, shortness of breath... the whole shabang.  By the time I got to L&D 10 minutes after that it was in the 170s with both babies in the 180s or higher.  Talk about a panic attack.  Thankfully they were able to get all of our heart rates down fairly quickly and there was no emergency c-section like they thought may end up happening when I first got there.  But good lord it was an agonizing hour or so there.

So now I'm back home and on the lower dosage since the contractions are obviously less dangerous than all 3 of our heartrates being over 150.  We'll see what happens I guess.

What a freakin' weekend so far.

I'm kind of sad that the damn Procardia made me miss yet another mommashell post.  LOL.  These kids have awful timing.  Wink

  • Dear Lesliebabies,

Please stop giving your mom such a hard time. I know you are excited to meet us, but you just aren't ready yet. So, please hang out inside mommy for just a little longer. Ok?

    Love, E-aunt Stephanie

  • I'm a newbie/lurker but have seen you post about the twins in the past - but I  just have to say:

  • Oh no! I hate to say it, but I don't think you're going to have inside babies for very much longer. Sad

Little stinkers. I'm really glad everyone's heartrates came down though. SCARY.

I know I don't think they're going to be inside for much longer either.  *Sigh*  I've only got 5 days until the 32 week mark which was my next major goal.  As long as I make it to that point I'll be *OK* if they come since the risks go down quite a bit after that.

  • poor thing.

  • I think you will make it to your 32 weeks...maybe not much after that though.  :)

  • Geez...  I'm sure they'll be fine though. 32 week babies are NOTHING like 24 week babies. Now THAT would be terrifying. Besides... they're full of p!ss and vinegar. They'll come out kicking and screaming.

  • LOL Jason's.  Plss, vinegar, and steroid shots.  Thankfully I was able to get both of those so if they come early that will help a lot.  And they are DEFINITELY fighters so no worry there.
  • How big do they think they are now?

  • At 28 weeks they were measuring almost 2 1/2 lbs each.  Best guesstimate  would be somewhere between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 lbs or so at the moment.  I haven't had another full growth scan so I'm not really sure.
  • Ooh they're big! Yay!!!!

Better eat lots of pizza and other yummy food though. You know... just to make sure. Hee Hee.
