Do you drink tap, filtered or bottled water?

We filter our water but I think I'd rather buy bottled. It looks cloudy coming out of the faucet and DH says its just air bubbles but it grosses me out. What do you drink?

Re: Do you drink tap, filtered or bottled water?

  • I crave tap water for some reason
  • Loading the player...
  • I drink anything.  I don't care, if it didn't kill me before, I figure it isn't killing me or the boys now.
  • Filter through the fridge and sometimes bottled.
  • Filtered from our fridge. It's never looked cloudy.
  • We drink filtered water out of our fridge.
  • I drink it from the tap... but we have a filter on the water supply (well water) so I guess filtered. No bottled though, too expensive and the "tap" water tastes great.

  • Oh, but Deja Blue Water tastes funny, before and during the pregnancy.
  • We drink bottled.  We buy the water bottles for work or when we are traveling and we buy the huge jugs to drink at home so we're not using a million water bottles a day...hahaha!

  • We have had Sparkletts delivered since DS was born.  Socal tap water is nasty.
  • Tap.  I keep a jug filled in the fridge all the time.  I usually drink a gallon within two days, so I can imagine it'd be expensive to do bottled.  Plus, our water is ridiculously expensive and I know it's very safe.

  • Filtered/bottle.  Even though our filter needs changed so I am probaly just drinking really cold tap water.
  • It comes out of the refridgerator, but we haven't changed the filter in about 2 years, so I would classify it as tap.  It's clear and tastes fine to me.  For some reason it tastes better to me when it comes out of the fridge rather than directly out of the tap.  I know it's all in my head.

  • When we moved to the state we drank bottled and cooked with regular water or made drinks with regular water. After we got used to it we stopped using bottled....when we went back to FL we realized how NASTY the water tasted!! YUCK!

I think the filter should be doing the trick and DH is probably right, its air bubbles. Do you have a new home?

  • We have a filter...but after a little while it loses pressure and needs to re-fill. Our tap water is super hard. So, I mainly drink bottled.

  • We have a Brita pitcher that is in the fridge.  Before that it was always tap water.

I just love the taste of ice cold water from my Brita!

  • I drink filtered. We have a brita in the fridge thing... I think thats just fine.  In my chemistry class in college we studied how water is filtered by the city, by bottling companies, and how the at home filters work and really its all about the same.  Bottling companies aren't regulated where cities are though...
  • We have a brita filter on our tap. Your hubby is right, you are just seeing air bubbles. I think bottled water is a waste of money and resources. What about getting a brita jug that you can fill and put in the fridge? It will give the bubbles time to dissapear so you won't be so wigged out by the cloudy water.

  • Mainly bottled because I am always on the go
  • We have a filtration system throughout the house with a neutralizer, a softener and a black light (whatever that does) and the kitchen sink also has a reverse osmosis.

We had some issues with non-fecal coliform in the well when we moved in and although it was passable after some bleaching, we wanted to go the extra mile!

  • Oh, and I never buy bottled water - such a waste of money and So bad for the earth.

I bought a Sigg water bottle (www.sigg.com) and fill it when I am on the go.  They save a ton of money vs. buying water, plus are BPA free!  I highly reccomend them!

  • At home we filter it through a brita pitcher we keep in the fridge.  Otherwise bottled water.  This isn't a pregnancy thing for me though, I've always tried to stick to filtered water.
  • I crave ice cold tap water so that is what I drink at home.

I drink bottled water while at work though but it has to be Arrow Head.

  • I will agree that extra cold water makes it taste different... I have one of those really long skinny jugs with the spout that I fill up with tap water and keep in the fridge. I just fill up my nalgene when I'm on the go...
  • I have reusable bottle I fill up w/ my Brita. I stopped buying bottle water about a year ago when I realized how horrible it was for the environment.

  • We use tap with a filter (Brita). Please don't switch to bottled, it is so bad for the environment! Also, the purification standards on tap water are much higher than on bottled.
  • Since I've been pg tap water makes me want to vomit.  It has to be ice ice ice cold for me to drink it.  So mostly I've been drinking bottled water.

  • California has nasty water, so we go with the Brita.
  • Filtered at home (Brita)... the tap water here is AWFUL.  At work we have bottled.

  • filtered out of the tap.  They just redid all our water lines this summer (cost us a pretty penny in the assessment) and the water tastes SO much better.
  • I have a PUR water filter.  It has the cartridges for flavor, but I don't like them.
  • Our tap water is great. We used to have a filter on our faucet, but don't any more so we just drink straight tap water. I'm not a fan of bottled water - for the environmental reasons as well as the phthalate concern.
  • We have a brita water pitcher and I love it!  The water from the tap is nasty at our house!
