Cord Blood Banking

Is anyone in the Toronto area considering doing Cord Blood Banking? And if so, with which lab?

There are multiple labs in the Toronto area now and although most of the prices are comparable, there is a lot of info on the websites that is somewhat confusing, ie. accrediations, number of transplants, etc.

Just looking for a little insight/advise...

    i live in toronto and we are considering this.  i saw my new doctor for the first time today and she gave me a book on delivery at north york general as well as a pamphlet on cord blood banking.  the pamphlet was from progenics cord blood.....www.progenicscryobank.com

    i haven't read through it yet or compared it to any other labs yet.  i suspect that perhaps this lab works with that specific hospital but i am not sure. 

    i realize this wasn't particularly helpful as i also don't know much myself at this point.  if i fing any really helpful info i will try and pass that on to you.

    i am actually in peterborough, and as far as i know i am delivering here although i am a high-risk preggo with pre-existing hypertension..looking for a place to do blood banking in toronto to keep shipping costs down and would ultimately like a company that will come and get the sample from us in the hospital here..
