<div>Our 2 year old has been dealing with this rash on the crease where her leg meets her foot ever since she was around 8 months old. The doctor says it’s eczema, and we have tried eczema lotion, cortizone 10 cream, and we also had a prescription that seemed to help until we ran out of it and then the rash just came back. Has anyone dealt with this before and figured out a way to get rid of it for good?</div><div>

Re: 2 year old recurring rash on foot
We went through something very similar with my son — same spot, same age, kept coming back every time the prescription ran out.
What finally made a difference for us was a combination of things rather than just the cream. We switched to fragrance free everything — soap, laundry detergent, wipes. That alone made a noticeable difference within a couple of weeks.
The other thing our dermatologist told us was to moisturise that area twice a day even when there was no rash visible. Not just treating it when it flares — keeping the skin barrier strong all the time so it has less chance of breaking down. We use a thick fragrance free cream not a lotion.
Also worth asking your doctor about a longer course of the prescription rather than stopping as soon as it clears. Stopping too early was our problem — the inflammation was not fully gone even when the skin looked better.
It is such a frustrating cycle but it does get more manageable! 💕
