  Hey mama, you’re doing great - even when it doesn’t feel like it. I’ve had hyperemesis with my pregnancies and taking care of my other kids has felt impossible.  This time around my husband had to take 6-8 weeks off of work because I was too sick to even get out of bed.  Unfortunately I don’t have a “fix all” for you, but just wanted to let you know that you aren’t alone.  I found when I got to the point of feeling absolutely dreadful and like I was just going to die, that’s when I needed to go into the hospital to get fluids and it gives you just a little perk up.  We’ve relied heavily on our community this time around and have had SO many freezer meals given to us. Because of being so sick and my aversions I can’t eat the food myself - but it feeds my husband and 3 other kids and that’s something I just can’t do right now.  I’m almost 13 weeks and some things are slowly getting better, although I’m still on diclectin and gravol all day long from keeping me vomiting non stop. 

  I realize not everyone’s spouse has the flexibility to take time off, and not everyone has the community to help with meals.  So if that’s not the case for you, resting as much as possible now is going to help you make it through your days, extra screen time is just a season and you can dial down when you’re feeling better if you want to. I find even when I’m feeling awful, when my kids got really cranky, I would head out for a very slow walk with puke bags in hand, because once they got outside they were more emotionally related as well (me too 🙃$).  Hang in there!! Hopefully just a few weeks more of feeling brutal and then hopefully you’ll feel better come spring time when you can be in the fresh air more and have your kiddos run around the parks while you sit and relax on a bench.

  Thank you so much for your response. It definitely helps to know I’m not alone and I pray you can feel much better soon too. I really appreciate all the advice!

  I really appreciate your response. It’s so good to know I’m not alone!! Praise God, this new medicine regimen my doctor suggested has been working since I started it a couple nights ago. Taking B6 and unisom only before bed wasn’t helping (it had worked fine with my second pregnancy), but I started taking half a unisom with 50mg of B6 at 8am and 3pm in addition to a full unisom and 50 mg of B6 before bed. So far it’s been a life saver and I’ve actually been able to eat more. I’m praying it keeps working for the rest of the trimester.

  ps I’m not taking the Dramamine anymore.. I feel like it didn’t help
