Baby's clothes for Dubai summer

My daughter is 2 years old and she is very active. We are now staying in Dubai and we will be here for another one year. Dubai is nearing the dreadful summer and w need to prepare. My daughter loves outdoors. Though we go outdoors only after the sunset, I have learnt that summer night in Dubai can get humid and hot. I am planning a wardrobe makeover. What clothes are better to wear outdoors during the day and the night? I planning to get some light and loose cotton clothes for her which also covers her well. I will be buying clothes for my baby from the international kid's brands in Dubai, Mothercare. Don't know of other brands here. What are your suggestions for my baby's clothing?

  • Cotton and other natural fibers breathe better. Dresses instead of shorts will be breezier too.

  • Lightweight cotton and other natural fabrics are definitely the best choice for Dubai’s summer, both day and night, since they breathe well and help prevent overheating. Loose fits, light colors, and covering the skin are smart, especially if you’re outdoors after sunset when it’s still hot and humid. When friends visited us with kids, they focused on comfort in the evenings and did indoor attractions during the day — and for tourist outings like the Burj Khalifa, they booked through BurjTicket so everything was quick and stress-free. Keeping routines flexible really helps in Dubai’s climate.

For Dubai’s summer — especially with a very active 2-year-old — you’re thinking in the right direction. Light, breathable, loose-fitting fabrics like cotton or bamboo are excellent because they let air circulate and wick moisture. Long-sleeved, loose cotton tops and lightweight leggings or trousers help protect her skin from the sun while still staying cool. Wide-brimmed hats and soft, breathable socks or sandals with good airflow are also great for evenings.

Mothercare is a solid option, but you’ll also find plenty of summer basics from international kids’ brands at places like Shein, especially if you want budget-friendly cotton sets, rompers, and sun-friendly outfits in lots of sizes and styles. Just make sure whatever you pick is lightweight and easy to move in so your little one stays comfortable when playing outdoors.
