Please help me get through first trimester fatigue. I work a desk job and the job itself is already on the boring side so it's very hard to stay focused when all I want to do is sleep. My boss is aware I'm pregnant and I have lots of snacks I keep in my desk.
I swear if I still worked at my old job I'd be handling this better because that job was constant moving and talking to the public. I wish I still had that old job but this new one pays way more and gives me benefits so it is what it is. I hear it gets better in 2nd trimester but I'm only 7 weeks. How do I power through?
Re: Dealing with fatigue at work
I have an adjustable treadmill desk setup (made by Jarvis) that I moved into my office at work. Originally I just had it at my home office. But I just keep a pad underneath the treadmill base so it doesn’t disturb people on the floor below me. I keep tennis shoes in my office and just bring socks to work, so I can wear those when I’m not meeting with clients.
I typically walk for sixty minutes at a speed of 2mph (fast enough to get blood flowing, but slow enough to type). Alternatively, you could try taking walks on your lunch break or walking before work if possible. Trust me, I know it’s the last thing you feel like doing when you’re fighting for your life to get through the day. However, since I’ve started incorporating this into my day, there has not been one time where I do not feel a significant improvement in my energy while doing it and for the remainder of my day!
Obviously check with your doctor first as well! I hope this helps—hang in there!
