Upcoming Appointments: just left one. Planned our induction date for 1/15 so he won't share his brother's birthday. I'm at a 1 and about 30% effaced. Which means nothing for me personally. I am always at a 3ish for a month before baby. Lol I scheduled out finally. 3 more appt and 2 US and baby will be here!
How are you feeling?: feeling good. Christmas excitement has preoccupied me and I can ignore pregnancy pains through that.
Rants/Raves: Christmas excitement is in the air and I just love it! We are doing a family night drive tonight with cookies and hot cocoa and looking at lights. 🤗
Questions: n/a
GTKY: Are any of you planning inductions?
I've been induced twice. They were my worst births. This time I am inducing again and I am not excited for it, but I want to avoid birthdays and help with childcare organizing. So that's what it is. I loved my late night going into labor situations way more. The element of excitment and the unexpected made it thrilling. Things went more smooth and less painful and so I'm a little bummed, but maybe being induced while not in active labor will be better than my last time. 🫤 all in all baby arrived and was safe and healthy and that's all that matters. I'm excited to have a day pinned down and child care in place.
Upcoming Appointments: I had one today and will again next week Tuesday.
How are you feeling?: Just very pregnant. Unwieldy, achy, heartburn, and I need to sit down a lot 🤷🏻♀️
Rants/Raves: I'm also excited for Christmas! I only have 2 presents left to wrap, we're decorated, and the house is fairly clean, so that just leaves some cooking and lots of celebrating! We have an annual, no-stakes Christmas Eve poker with some friends tomorrow after our girl goes to bed and then it's Christmas! Family, presents, and good food (and probably a really nice nap)!
Questions: Nope.
GTKY: Are any of you planning inductions?
I was induced with my first because my blood pressure went up a bit and wouldn't come down while I was at my 40 week appointment. My body wasn't really ready and that led to a whole host of other interventions. So, this time, assuming it stays safe, I'd like to see what my body can do on it's own.
Upcoming Appointments: I had one yesterday, I’ll have another in 2 weeks
How are you feeling?: Very very large, this is my first pregnancy and having twins makes it a challenge for sure. Other than that I feel good, I’ve really loved being pregnant, although it is getting uncomfortable. Lots of kicks and aches, heartburn really setting in.
Rants/Raves: I’m really excited for Christmas! We’re staying at my parents house like usual, we have our usual Christmas Eve celebration scheduled, my part of the family so me, husband, sister, brother, their partners and kids, my parents, we go to my Aunt’s place for dinner and a little get together with the rest of our extended family. It’ll be nice seeing everyone, it’s rare outside the holidays, a lot of them have younger kids and it’s nice seeing them play. One of my cousins is similarly far along to me, so I’ll chat it up with her. But it’ll be a great day before actual Christmas!
Questions: Not at the moment!
GTKY: Are any of you planning inductions? Nope! This is my first pregnancy. So I hope I go into labor around my due date. I’m hoping nature takes its course and this goes well naturally, if complications arise, I’ll do what I need to.
@emeraldmaybythebay, this past weekend we took a family drive to see the best houses with crazy amounts of Christmas lights. We also took hot cocoa with us, but my son just ate marshmallows on the trip. Haha. I think we'll make this a new Christmas tradition.

EDD / Weeks + Days: 37 weeks
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: December 26 (check-up and ultrasound)
How are you feeling?: So done! It's very hard to move. It hurts to bend over. It hurts to get out of bed. It hurts to sleep. It hurts to walk. I'm really feeling it. Acid reflux is bad too. I also feel like his head is going to push down and just pop out at any time. I know that's not really the case, but he feels so low and the pressure is crazy.
Rants/Raves: My rant is that it is going to be 70 degrees F for Christmas, and I'm not a fan of that at all! But I love Christmas, and it will still be great. I'll have three more presents to wrap this Christmas Eve, but we are mostly ready. This will be our first Christmas where we aren't traveling due to how far along I am. My in-laws are coming to visit today and will stay for a few days.
Questions: None at the moment.
GTKY: Are any of you planning inductions? Yes. Originally, I wasn't planning on it, but I'm ready to be done, and planning the induction will make it easier for my parents to come to help out with my toddler while I'm in the hospital and recovering. I was induced with my first and it wasn't bad. I'm hoping it will be a bit shorter this time, and I'm not going to hold out on the epidural this time. It helped so much!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! The New Year is so close and that means its go time ladies!!! We are so close!
@kbmt I love the tradition. It's so simple. They sing their carols and get excited about the lights. It is so sweet. I also second the being done! Baby dropped again and is so low. Lighting crotch so electric I do an unintentional dance move. The waddle has returned. The sciatic pains are real, and my hips don't lie. 🤭Heartburn is unrelenting. I swear it is all meant to help us mentally with birth. A means to an end of this slow torture.
@preggoamelia30 wow - making it to term with twins… good luck! I’m in the older mom group so none of my friends with twins were allowed to go anywhere near term…
@kbmt isn’t it so much easier to plan an induction when you have a child / children. Just taking the childcare plans out of the equation gave me a peace of mind. Originally mine was at 39+3 but I had been hoping that labor would kickstart on its own before. But now that it’s been moved up by a week, it’s unlikely and I have spent the last 2 days putting finishing touches on the care plans and I feel SO MUCH BETTER for it.

EDD / Weeks + Days: Jan 11 BUUUUT… induction got rescheduled to 38.5 weeks; today I’m 37+6
Team blue/pink/green: fake green
Upcoming Appointments: I have a 38 week diagnostic ultrasound to check on baby’s size
How are you feeling?: round ligament pain is unreal; it was bad before Christmas but somehow overnight Eve > Christmas Day, it went from 6/10 to 10/10. I can hardly move. I had to get an emergency massage today to help relieve the pain. Also had pelvic floor PT yesterday for relief too and got some exercises / stretches to do on my own.
Rants/Raves: um, so a few eventful weeks over here. I haven’t been feeling well (which has been the case since the end of 2nd trimester to be honest) and haven’t been able to figure out why. My blood pressure has been higher than my normal (I’m usually in the 100/60 range and it’s been in the 120/80 range) so I thought that was the reason. Then on my 36 week scan, it turned out that baby jumped from 56th percentile to 72nd percentile and I started asking questions. Because my first was 10.5 with a missed GDM diagnosis, I stated to worry but my OB was adamant that “I will not induce before 39 weeks unless MFM signs off on it.” Meanwhile MFM is like “talk with your OB.” I was so annoyed. I had started wearing a continuous glucose monitor on Nov 24…. Something I had requested because I noticed that during one of my ad hoc visits to L&D for “feeling shitty” they ran my CMP and my glucose was 159 despite having eaten more than 2 hours prior. So, I started wearing it and realized that I couldn’t eat ANY carbs or fruit or sugar. Then a few weeks later, my overnight glucose started coming up so I started doing the finger prick tests in the morning to check my fasting levels (KEEP IN MIND… all of this is happening on my own free will with absolutely no initiation or advice from the OB). Anyways, fasting glucose after a few days was high… above 110… and it should be below 95. So I messaged my midwife (getting additional adjunct care from her) and told her than and she’s like “that’s too high…” So then I went down a rabbit hole of research and turns out that anywhere other than US and Canada, my fasting glucose of 105 which I got in my 3hr test in week 28 would have automatically labeled me with GDM. So, I bought it up to my OB and she’s like “I didn’t know your fasting was so high… we can induce at 38 weeks.” This was at 37+2. So between hospital scheduling and toddler care plan, we’ve opted for a 7pm Dec 31 induction. DH really wants a Jan 1 baby so hopefully that’s what he’ll get. Not practical for taxes or insurance this year, but if we ever move back to Canada, the school year cut off is Dec 31 so it makes sense. That said, my midwife is gonna do a membrane sweep on Dec 30 and 31 to hopefully get things going such that I won’t need much more encouragement when I get to the hospital.
Questions: n/a
GTKY: Are any of you planning inductions? Yes, as stated above! I was always planning on getting one at 39.5 weeks. I had to evict my first baby at 40 weeks (my choice). I was a long labor but we did great and the only thing that sucked was that he was 10.5 lbs so that was a lot of baby to come out of my vajayjay.

@acleverusername I'll be thinking of you this week. You can see the light! Lol 🤞for a smaller baby than a 10.5 lber 😳 good luck with the membrane sweep. I had one and it was absolute misery for 3 days. I hope it works for you! 🙌
So close, @acleverusername! Good luck with the sweep and induction! I had a sweep with my first. It didn’t work but it also didn’t cause any discomfort. My induction also went pretty smoothly. Hoping everything goes smoothly for you.
We probably should get a birth stories thread started! 🏁
