{And yep, it’s a big no to the castor oil 🙅🏻♀️ It’s sitting on my counter but ONLY as a nod to Murphy — if I have it I won’t need it, right??}

ohhh the mental struggle of being past the EDD- so hard. Here are some things I’d do (maybe you already have)
- decorate for Xmas (if you do that)
- buy/wrap Xmas gifts
- baking baking baking
- make plans. Baby’s love to come when you have plans lol. Schedule a dinner with friends or a date with your spouse!
- start a small project (redecorate book shelves for example) or small craft (air dry clay??)
- learn a hobby like royal icing for decorating cookies (clearly I like to bake), or crochet… something you could pick up rather quickly and occupies your mind
sets that allows for size customization? Ideally that don't cost an arm and a leg, lol.

With my second baby I had prodromal labor for 24 hours before it picked up into actual labor. It was every 10 min for a whole day and night. Uncomfortable but not very intense.

I’m sorry to hear they woke you up! I hope you can rest as much as possible and ignore them as much as possible. I’m not sure if this is a common experience but I had to focus on keeping my bladder empty as well — I am pretty sure I was woken up by contractions causing bladder spasms a few times.

Ugh yes @virginiaham It’s been about 28 hours now. I took a couple showers today and a bath, and I still am having them, still very irregularly — each 45sec-90sec, anywhere between 5 min apart - 20 min apart. they didn’t go away, but didn’t really amp up either @brookejay06 pretty much same intensity but even that changes a little. I’ll have one I can’t talk through but the next I can. I can’t move through most of them though. Laying down is bad because it’s already hard enough move normally in bed lol so I am just frozen in whatever position it starts in. Standing up or sitting at least I can bounce or sway to relax easier.
Definitely try to rest, stay hydrated, like even more hydrated than usual, empty bladder, warm baths/showers, and I'd also recommend a birthing ball and do some hip stretches so baby can get in the right position. A lot of prodromal labor comes from baby putting pressure of stuff but not being in the right position to actually do what it needs to do to go into full labor.
Praying you get some relief soon! 🙏🙏

my favorite thing for this is the Miles Circuit. Google it and do those exercises along with rest, bath, water, food. Sex isn’t a bad idea either. Anything that promotes oxytocin and relaxation.

Postpartum Q: any recommendations for a completely unstructured, soft belly binder? I have the Frida one but it’s so uncomfortable when I sit down to nurse (or do skin to skin), which is a lot of the day.
