Re: Symtpoms

  • the amount of food I have bought and then had to throw out because I no longer want to eat it and it went bad is...more than I would like. I never looked on my previous 1st trimester fondly because it was the same, but wow experiencing it all over again just reinforces that this is easily my least favorite part of pregnancy.

@thescarletmom oh is that what causes it? I've had such bad spells of lightheadedness and dizziness. I've just been trying to drink lots of fluids and eat snacks often. Good to know I guess. Sorry you are going through it too. You seem to have had a pretty rough go so far. Hopefully second trimester helps

Omg yes, the exhaustion is next level-like, "I just woke up but could nap again immediately" kind of tired 😩 I'm around the same stage (3+ something) and I swear I already feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. That weird taste/smell thing is real too! It’s like a metallic-y, stale kind of vibe that just lingers? And everything smells too strong lately, even normal stuff. No nausea yet either but I’m bracing myself 😅 Glad I'm not the only one feeling things so early—let’s complain and survive together!
  • Currently 15w6d and I have been experiencing a lot of cramping this over the past 3 days. It’s been mild, but definitely coming and going all day and sometimes at night. No spotting. Of course this has caused me to spin a little. I talked with my midwife and she said this can be normal, but had me do a urine test which came back fine. According to research, it seems like the cramping could be all of a sudden because the uterus is moving out of the pelvis area right about now. Of course though my anxiety is quite high. But I do have my 16w appointment on Monday and hopefully will get the peace of mind that I need. Has anyone else experienced this before?

@hilaryandbaby1 I'm 14w4, and the cramping started really suddenly for me a few weeks ago. Same as you, no spotting, mild but decently frequent. I *freaked*. Went to midwife and she did an ultrasound. For me, they were/are uterine contractions! She could see it on the ultrasound. Now that I know that, I can tell that's what they are by just paying attention to the feeling. Theoretically, if you rest more frequently and drink like, twice as much water as you think you should it can help ❤️ my midwife said it's normal and not anything to worry about with subsequent babies unless there's severe pain or bleeding to go along with it. I'm not sure how "normal" or common it is for a first baby, but you might ask your provider about it Monday?
