Timing/Testing/CS: We had impeccable timing. -3, -1, 1, and 3 for good measure. DH insisted because I have apparently ruined our timing in 3 of the 6 cycles. Which I was trying not to BD on O day. Then our schedules would conflict and we couldn’t get anymore in the rest of the fertile window. So, not necessarily my fault.

How are things going? Any questions?: I’m symptom spotting. 🙄 My pregnancy symptoms are literally the same as my non pregnancy symptoms so this is pointless. I have decided to go on my backpacking trip. Even if I get a positive. (as of now, I may change my mind.) I just plan to keep my pack super light. Under 30lbs if I can. Which means I will probably not bring a ton of clothes and instead opt for body warmers to wear at night. Should be fun. 😜

R/R:  I canceled my camping trip this week. It’s raining and I’m exhausted. I have so much to get caught up on this month. I need to get laundry caught up so I can go back to my new laundry system that has been working so good. I stayed ahead of laundry for over a month before I started my summer camping and traveling.

It feels like a ghost town in here….

  • @emeraldcity603 Yes it definitely feels like a ghost town here. I think there are only 3 of us regularly posting now. It used to be so active a few years ago. Idk why it isn’t anymore

WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): Contracts phase of embryo adoption

    WTO/TWW: AF due tomorrow

    Timing/Testing/CS: TTA cycle

How are things going? Any questions?: Just hoping the contracts and shipping phases don’t take too long! We had to confirm that we are okay with the wording on the section of the contract about contact and we are waiting for the placing families to also okay it so we can all get the official contract to sign. So that’s where we are now.

R/R: We did a beach day today and the water was super cold still, but the waves were nice and big, which made it worth being in the cold water

    WTO/TWW: TWW

    Timing/Testing/CS: 0, +1

How are things going? Any questions?: We’re 6 months into TTGP. I was on hormonal birth control for 11 years and we were TTA for the first 90 days. It was absolutely brutal. Had a 28 cycle in June so I think I’m finally out of the woods as far on BCP detox goes.

R/R: We’re going to Portugal next week and I’m supposed to start my period the day we get back. Should I bring a pregnancy test with me? We had gone to Europe back in March and My period came a whole week early. My husband had to go buy tampons in a small Italian supermarket. My OB said that jet lag can do that (?). I’ll be bringing provisions to Portugal.
  • @britters314 I’m glad things are moving along. Once everything is signed what’s the next steps? They have to time everything with your cycle, any specific things they need you to do to prepare for that?

    Timing/Testing/CS: Benched this cycle

How are things going? Any questions?: Restarting fertility treatments finally! Have to have an HSG test tomorrow and am not looking forward to it. It was one of the more painful experiences of my life last time I had it. Side note I am just so tired lately. Sorry I haven't been posting, I don't know if I'm kind of depressed or what but I'm very brain fog / exhausted right now.

  • @knottie0f94701689597be5 Welcome! I suggest changing your username so it’s easier for us to remember you and tag you in posts. As to your Portugal question, I think it depends on if you want to drink on your trip. If you aren’t planning to drink, I’d say just wait until you get back to test. If you want to drink, though, I’d personally bring a few tests so you can test before drinking just in case.

@emeraldcity603 After all the paperwork, the embryos get shipped to my clinic. Last time they arrived right at the beginning of my cycle, so we were able to do a transfer that cycle. For me, the way it will work to get the right timing is I’ll go in for a baseline US and bloodwork on CD3, then start monitoring ultrasounds EOD at around CD 10. Once I’m gearing up for O, they’ll have me take a trigger shot and schedule a transfer for 1 week after that. I’ll also start taking progesterone a few days after the trigger shot.

@ferret22 Ugh the HSG is so terrible. I’m glad I’ve only had to do it once. My current doctor does SHGs instead (or at least that’s what she’s had me do) and I feel like those are much less painful

@britters314 at least this time I know it will hurt. I didn't know that last time and the shock nearly made me leap off the table. Of course the man doing the procedure was like, it shouldn't hurt. 🙄 He made me feel like I was crazy until I googled it afterwards and saw that a lot of other people said it hurt too. I've never heard of an SHG, I'll have to ask my doc about that. Hope the shipping and contracts are quick for your embryos! Best of luck!
  • @ferret22 I can’t believe he said it shouldn’t hurt! I was told to take Tylenol beforehand when I did it. Also now that I think about it, an SHG doesn’t check your tubes, so if you are going to be doing an IUI, you’d probably have to do the HSG.

@britters314 I survived the HSG lol. I told the doc I was pretty sure it would hurt and let him know I'd probably cry and of course it was another male doctor who was like, I promise it won't hurt this time. Guess what, it still hurt like a b****. He seemed so apologetic afterwards. Why are they so convinced HSG procedures don't hurt? I swear I'm not the only one that feels pain during that process. None of the nurses were surprised. 😂
  • @ferret22 It must be a man thing. They think it’s in our heads that this procedure hurts, so telling us it won’t should solve that. You’d think they’d eventually realize that every woman says it’s painful, so it must actually be painful. Glad you are done with it, though. Hopefully you won’t ever have to do it again!
