When LO is at the sitters house, sometimes he naps good, other times he doesn't. Monday he napped for 1.5 hour in the am then 2 hours in the pm. Yesterday, he napped 20 mins in the am and 20 in the pm and was very fussy with her. He was fighting his sleep the whole day pretty much. We are on sitter #2 because of his sleeping habits. The first sitter said he cried all the time and wouldn't sleep and the 2nd sitter says he only cries when she puts him down for a nap. So, she picks him up and bounces him till he falls asleep.
This am, my DH woke LO up to feed before work at 6:15am. LO did not nap for the sitter until 11am. Clearly there's a problem. She would bounce him and then he'd get really sleepy so she'd put him down and he'd cry again. So finally she put him in the exersaucer and he played for another hour. He gets extremely over tired and will not go to sleep. He cannot soothe himself like her other 2 babies can. I do not know how to teach him. He doesn't care for his pacifier. I don't know whether it's teeth or something else causing this or is it in fact just fighting sleep?
I'm nervous that his sitter is going to call me and tell me she can't handle him. He's high maintenance (only for naps) and needs a little more attention it seems like with sitters. I don't know.
With me at bed time, usually around 7:15-7:45, I can rock him while he's eating, burp him and rock him a short time there after (because of his reflux I can't put him down immediately after eating). He will start rubbing in my shirt and he did it for an hour this past Sunday. After I finally realized how long I had been in with him, I put him in his crib. He rubbed around for a while and never made one peep. He went to sleep on his own.
Monday night and last night he rubbed on me for 10 minutes then I placed him in his crib and he went to sleep 30 mins later. When the sitter tries this, he screams and kicks his feet and scratches the PNP netting. What do I need to do? I called his pedi about him fighting sleep and she said CIO and every 15 minutes console him.
Does anyone here have any suggestions? Any sleep training that you would recommend me reading more about & trying?
When LO is with me, he naps okay and STTN with no problems.
