𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? I'm getting exhausted super quickly, especially after a walk or running errands. Can't believe today is my last day of the second trimester! I'm hoping this last trimester flies by. I'm definitely feeling nervous about life with a newborn and toddler, but I'm ready to just do the dang thing and embrace the chaos lol. Although, not looking forward to c-section recovery and postpartum

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: My son had a blast doing our Easter egg hunt! He's just old enough now that he "gets" it and it was so fun seeing his excitement. He's not really into chocolate, so I filled the eggs with toy dinos/farm animals and he loved opening up his eggs to see his "prizes" lol

I am generally a clean person! In fact, having a messy house used to stress me out SO much. But since my son was born I've become accustomed to a lot more mess. It's inevitable and I just keep telling myself that one day the house will be clean....

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝘁/𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲/𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗸/𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻: Blue!

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? Def on the struggle bus this week with my Gestational Diabetes. I still feel like I am in denial about it all. My numbers have been really good but I have had a few spikes here and there which I know are normal for everyone even if you dont have GD or any type of Diabetes, but it has been making me feel really sad and makes me feel out of control. I have my appointment with the MFM on Tuesday next week and I am looking forward to that ultrasound - really just hoping that the baby looks great and they can affirm me that all is ok. I think my overall feelings recently have just been overwhelmed! Pregnancy is so hard and this diagnosis is just another thing added that has been really tough for me.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: Rave is that I am still feeling pretty good in my body, able to stay active and the baby is also active which is reassuring!

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Not at the moment!

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you a clean or messy person? Definitely a clean person! I dont mind a little clutter here or there but genuinely try and keep my house neat! I have a golden retriever so the hair situation can get really out of control when she starts to shed (I cried about it this year while pregnant, ha)

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? Pregnant lol. Definitely needing to adapt to the bigger belly, I think I'm trying to do things I shouldn't and hurting my back in the process. But honestly really good overall, can't really complain.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: This is maybe both lol, panicked a little at my glucose screening results because it was at 130 and I read some doctors will now make you do the 3 hour for anything 130 or above... but talked to my friend who goes to the same OB and she told me ours uses 140. Crisis hopefully averted, otherwise it'll probably be my rant next week lol!

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Now I'm just curious, what cutoff number did your OB use for deciding if you have to do the 3 hour test (if you know)?

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you a clean or messy person? Depends on the kind of mess, I can't tolerate gross/dirty mess but I don't mind things being kind of cluttered or disorganized.

@butterflyhunny My OB uses 140 too! My number came back at 210 so I didnt even have to sit through the 3 hour one - which apparently is torture, so that was my only plus side of failing that badly haha.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? Physically I’m feeling pretty good! I’ve been able to continue running and exercising and I have a good amount of energy. I’m anticipating more aches/pains going into the third trimester but so far my symptoms have been manageable.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: is anyone else getting bump envy? I feel like my bump is smaller than it sold be haha, I wish it was either bigger so I looked obviously pregnant or smaller so nobody could tell. Right now it’s in that weird stage where people wonder if I’m pregnant but are too scared to ask. I know this is a very trivial problem to have haha

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: is anyone else a bit behind on weight gain? If so did your care provider seem worried or give you any advice?

Somewhere in between, I like things clean and tidy but I’m not a freak about it.@ruthiedoberenz I also have a dog that sheds like crazy so it’s impossible to keep on top of vacuuming

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? I’m starting to notice the aches and pains more. I need to get in the habit of getting up from my desk more frequently but it’s difficult since I’m in so many meetings every day

this is both, but I’m traveling for work this week, and while I love doing in person work with my team, I feel drained.

Im a clean but disorganized person, if that makes sense? My husband is more tidy and is frequently organizing our house but I’m more cognizant of germs & dirt so I do more of the actual cleaning.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? Mostly good, my husband brought home a cold from work which has kicked my butt SO badly. I got sick last Tuesday and I’m just beginning to have energy again. I feel like this last week has been wasted productivity wise but I’m just trying to feel better at this point. Feeling pregnant otherwise, still growing and starting to settle into having a pregnant body more and more each day as far as the aches, fatigue, & energy levels go. Also third trimester - woohoo!!

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: I had my 28w appt on Monday which was good & got the TDAP vaccine. It’s a pretty minor rant but I was so excited to be done with needles/tests for this appointment and then got asked immediately if I wanted it and had to deal with a sore arm for the past few days. It’s no big deal, more of a woe is me which I know a lot of us are going through in our own ways! Otherwise baby is growing and moving well it seems. Moving to appts every 2 weeks now which feels so surreal & my office went ahead and got all of my appointments scheduled out which is making things feel real too!

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: NATM

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you a clean or messy person?
Clean but I like “things”, I have a lot of plants for example and I know some people can see that as unnecessary clutter. But aside from collecting things like that & them having space I’m clean and enjoy a clean space or else I get grumpy haha.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? Finally on the mend and I’m so relieved. Last week was rough. I’m so glad to have more energy and less Kleenex’s! I’ve been able to work out again and that makes such a big difference, too.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: The boys are on spring break, so we are packing up for a few days out of town (part hotel, part camping). Excited to get out of town and also quite worried about how sleeping will go. I’m already super restless so adding a sleeping pad to that seems like a potential step backward.

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Anyone else counting down the weekends and trying to figure out what needs/can be done before delivery? Or am I revealing how type-a crazy I can be? 🫣

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you a clean or messy person? I am definitely a clean person. I like things to be in their place and have a hard time relaxing if things aren’t in order. (I’ve told my husband who does not understand, it’s like trying to relax and being assaulted by all the things I need to do (dishes in the sink, dirty counters, stacks of books, toys strewn about, etc. He still can’t relate.). I’ve had to ease up on this having kids, which is probably good for all of us. Though, our garage is driving me crazy so hoping to get that in order before the baby comes.

@butterflyhunny The office I went to for my son used 140 as the cutoff! My result was 151 so I had to do the 3-hr, which I then passed. My guess is that they'll consider 130 a passing result!

@bluejaybaby You mentioned running and exercising, so I'm guessing you're a generally fit person with a strong core! And that will definitely result in a smaller bump. But it's totally normal to wish you had a bigger bump or have the "ideal" pregnant body, in general.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: Rant - we are still awaiting the sale of one of our properties and that financial drain is definitely something we want to get off our plate before baby. We also have a billion things we want to get done at both houses (a lot of physical labour tasks) before baby but July is sneaking up fast. Rave - my work announced they’re throwing me a little baby shower and I just think that’s so nice 🥰

𝗚𝗧𝗞𝗬: Are you a clean or messy person? Clean for sure. Yes, sometimes a few days go by between vacuuming or the house (the freaking kitchen table dumping ground, anyone else?!) gets more cluttered than it should. But dirty counters, sinks, dishes, sheets… no thanks, I can’t handle it! I’m the person that scrubs the couch down by hand biweekly.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? Emotional. Starting to hit me how much life will change, especially for my daughter as she adjusts to not being the only child, and hoping I can balance it all. Fortunately, my husband has been a great listener as I work through my emotions and constantly reminds me we are a team. Just feeling a little panicked as we go into third trimester.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: Rant - I would like for things to calm down in the global supply chain so my
job isn’t constantly crisis management and I can focus on proactive things.

Rave - the weather!!! It feels so good to be outside. I’ve struggled much more physically this pregnancy and I’m normally very active, so I’m super happy to be able to take walks during the day and play soccer/basketball/catch/etc with my active kiddo!

Ok overall. The tiredness is definitely hitting me more and more. Mostly feeling completely and utterly unprepared to welcome a baby in July. Ordered a childbirth class online and it’s intense😅

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀:

I’m currently waiting at the lab after drinking the glucola for the GD screener. Very glad to almost have it over with. Really hoping it all goes ok.

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

Have any of you been thinking of what to buy yourself now vs. what to wait to buy in case you receive it as a gift? I’m thinking maybe of buying a crib or bassinet now because I heard prices will be going up.

I love things being clean, but unfortunately I am pretty disorganized (which looks even messier in a small apartment). We are still trying to clean out our spare room for the baby and it’s just been really hard.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀: Rave- He’s moving around a lot more and so far seems to be doing very well. It’s hard to complain when he’s doing good.
