DH and I leave for a trip two days after, so in-laws host and do the cooking. They are Chinese from the Philippines, so it ends up being a mix of traditional Thanksgiving foods like turkey and mashed potatoes, and Chinese food. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food, but BIL does make a good lo mein...
@imrachellea - I received no guidance whatsoever, but a kale/apple/walnut/cranberry salad sounds DELISH and like a pretty decent compliment to a turkey dinner. I think I'm going to have to make that happen, thank you!
I go to my In laws for every holiday who happen to be Cuban so it's always very non traditional fixings. For this reason I cook my own at home just for my fix and leftovers.
I make turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, mashed butternut squash, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce and rolls. I also sometimes make sweet potato casserole but it's often too much for just us.
