My boy is here; everyone meet Arthur!

He made his speedy and peaceful arrival on 11/12 @ 4:37 pm weighing 7lbs 9oz & 19.5 inches long after my elective induction @ 39weeks & 3days. We went in at 7:30 am on 11/12. Discharged 11/13 around 6pm. We are settled in nicely at home and he is the perfect addition to our now family of 6!

I got induced at 38+3 on 11/7 and after labouring for what felt like forever, baby’s head got stuck in my pelvis and I needed an emergency csection.

Sawyer was born at 3:04 am on 11/10 and we’ve been over the moon since.

What an incredible, crazy ride this has been. We are so in love.

@mitchip Congratulations! I love the IKEA blanket! We have that one too. We have a 12 year old dachshund so we are partial to all things with weenie dogs on them 😊

@mitchip oh my gosh, you labored for three days and then had a c section?? That does not sound like the birth you wanted, I’m so sorry and I hope you’re healing well. I’m so glad you’re enjoying your baby boy, Sawyer is adorable. Congratulations, you made it!! ❤️

I posted my birth story elsewhere so I’ll keep it short here, but Nils was born 11/11 via planned C-section turned emergency C-section when I went into labor early at 38+5. Everything went well, he’s a healthy little peanut at 6lbs 14 oz and 18 inches (probably bigger now, he regained his birth weight in two days!).

We’ve been adjusting to home life with three kids and it’s going well! Big brother is chill, big sis is a little jealous but also loves her baby brother. Here’s a pic of her nursing after baby got his milk first 😆

Bennett and Jo came at 10/21 bright and early with planned C-section. Ben needed 12 LONG days in nicu before he could join us at home. They celebrated 1 month yesterday.

@mitchip You matter too. I found it difficult after my birth via emergency c-section with my first. Not necessarily now but if and when you feel ready, I found this book helpful for me to work through my feelings about the birth. 'How to Heal a Bad Birth : making sense, making peace and moving on. Congrats to all! My baby girl came on 11/12 and we are so in love. 30 hr induction process began at 38+3 due to GDM. The cytotex and foley balloon were unpleasant, but then I waited for 9 hrs for the pitocin to kick in so I got some rest. Glad my water broke on its own and I was able to get an epidural right away. Unfortunately I did still feel the contractions in my sacro iliac joint, which had been sore all pregnancy. And there was a bit of a scare that my placenta wasn’t coming loose, but eventually it did. Baby’s sugars were a little low so she got some supplemental nutrition. It took us a few days, but we finally got the hang of breastfeeding and will hopefully be able to get her off the formula soon. We made it back up to birthweight so we got the green light to begin to phase out. Not too stressed about it. Sending love to all.

Eli was born 11/20 via planned induction at 40w 3d. I labored for 25 hours. They said I’d be able to rest on the “low dose” pitocin, but my water broke and contractions ramped up super early even though my cervix still took a full 24 hours to ripen. So I opted for an epidural and it was a great choice for me. It worked so well and gave me a chance to rest before I needed to push. Eli didn’t like pitocin much so we had to keep the dose low for him which made my contractions less strong and further apart in pushing so that took a little longer than expected, but not bad. Eli also didn’t like the pushing part and his heart rate was dropping with each contraction. There was talk of maybe doing an emergency c-section, but then my Dr said she thought with an episiotomy I could get him out faster than they could prep for surgery. So she did the episiotomy and with 2 more contractions he was out! Both our sugars are good and we are headed home today.

It wasn’t what I planned, but I was ok with all the changes and decisions and loved my healthcare team. All in all, it was a very positive experience even amidst the ups and downs and changes.

the twins are beautiful and I love everyone’s names.

@co@cornichonmam I’m struggling more with the decision to give up breastfeeding than the birth. I told myself I didn’t have a birth plan I had preferences and I was ready to pivot as necessary to get us both on the other side.

I was very adamant that I wanted to breastfeed too but unfortunately my supply never got close to where it needed to be and mentally I just couldn’t pump every hour to increase it.

I’m getting there though. I have a gc for the bookstore. I’ll have to check that book out. Thanks.

Hello y’all! Proud to announce that my baby boy, Quincy, made it into this world about 4 hours ago. Labor started at 1:30am, contractions painful but tolerable every 10-15 mins a part until they picked up in frequency around 5:30am. Bounced on ball and deep breathing until they changed to 7-10 mins apart. Got checked at prenatal appt at 10am and was at a loose 3cm. Said okay to a membrane sweep. Contractions picked up within a few hours and were very 4 mins and couldn’t talk through them, also had some brown-ish bloody show. Headed to the hospital and checked again around 1pm, still at a loose 3cm but 80% effaced and lost my mucus plug which looked like a big brownish-red blood clot. Admitted and labored for a couple more hours and contractions were intolerable. Checked again and still at 3cm. Felt defeated because of slow progress and got an epidural. Epidural was hard to place and stopped working the last hour and a half but was so helpful for a few hours. Checked again around 6pm, was at 7cm, 100% effaced. Midwife broke my water then things went crazy. Baby Quincy was born vaginally at 7:45pm (18 hrs after contractions first started) at 39w5d. My hardest and most painful delivery d/t epidural failure. Felt the ring of fire and full contractions while pushing, which thankfully only lasted 5 contractions. Baby boy is 6lb13oz, 20 in long and breastfeeding like a champ.

Grateful beyond words for the privilege of Bumping alongside you mommas. Wishing the best to each of you still waiting and for all of us who now have our babes in our arms after so many months!

Finley was born early this morning around 1:30am right at 39 weeks. We had an induction scheduled for Friday, but my water broke in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, so we had to head to the hospital early. After about 24 hours of labor, he arrived healthy and hungry. We were scheduled for induction due to health risks, so I couldn’t be more relieved!

Baby Juliette Olive was born this morning at 4:54am. At 41w+6. I'll write up my birth story at some point, I had a 2nd successful VBAC but it was quite the dramatic birth. Thankfully no complications 🙌 which makes a massive difference from my previous two births but it was wild.

My daughter was born on 11/27! We went in for our induction at 5:30am, my OB came in to break my water at 1257 and around 5pm they increase pitocin to 5 and my contractions were intense! My daughter was born at 8:08pm and my husband was able to deliver her 🥰 I went in knowing I wanted to try to have her without and epidural and my husband supported me through it all, even when I was asking for fentanyl 🥲🤣 in hindsight it was an amazing experience and glad I was able to stick to my plan

Hi everyone and congrats to all you mommas! Our Finn arrived on 11/25, 10 days late. It was a long birth, beginning with water breaking and laboring at home for 2 full days before heading to the hospital. We had planned for a natural birth at the birth center, but after two days laboring at home I was only 3cm but 80% effaced. At the hospital I ejected for pitocin to move things along since I was at risk of infection. Took another 12 hours to dilate to 10cm. The epidural helped me rest which was needed to push for 3 hours. But due to his sunny side up position, I ended up needing a c-section

not at all the birth we planned but or boy is healthy, all that matters! Big guy was 9 lbs 3.6oz
