Baby is the size of a (an): coffee mug

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙

    Upcoming Appointments: October 8

How are you feeling?: Beyond my back aching and definitely feeling some symphysis pubis pain, pretty good.

Rants/Raves: The baby kicked me today. Twice! I swear, even DH felt the lump he was making on my belly.

Questions: I’m only 14 weeks. Is that normal? I wasn’t expecting to feel anything for at least another few weeks.

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where?
I’d have liked to, but between medical bills and my car springing a leak, we’ll have to table the trip till next year.

Baby is the size of a (an): Maple Leaf

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: October 1

How are you feeling?: Great!! Still dragging by the end of the day but otherwise doing really well.

    Rants/Raves: NATM

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where? Not sure yet, we have a couple of our usual trips planned like Halloween Horror Nights in October and the mountains of TN in November - but don't know if I'd really consider them a babymoon since we do it every year!
  • @fininevermore

I definitely think its normal! I have felt slight kicks every once and awhile for like a week now. I think when you've done it before its easier for you to tell when its a kick vs. something you wouldn't have noticed in your first pregnancy.

Baby is the size of a (an): avocado

    Team blue/pink/green: 🩷

Upcoming Appointments: October 14th for the anatomy scan!!

How are you feeling?: still tired and definitely moody.

Rants/Raves: rave?: I told my immediate supervisor and she was surprisingly very happy for us! I knew she would be but I thought she’d also be stressed about me being gone for a few months lol.
rant: DH and I have been bickering about baby names. I asked him to bring me 5 names that weren’t on my list which consisted of 8-9 names (they didn’t all have to be a love). He needed 3 days to do this. And when time finally came to share, he had two names…..both we had already discussed since they were on my list. Every time I try to bring names up he changes the subject! I know we have time but I would like to have a general idea and ideally a short list!! I’ve been so indecisive with this baby I don’t think we will actually pick her name until she’s here.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where? Probably not. We couldn’t even get it together to do a babymoon with our first so I highly doubt we will be able to with this baby. Would be nice to have taken a trip over seas but with a toddler it doesn’t sound as relaxing as it once did 😅

@fininevermore, I swore I felt baby move last week! When I looked it up I think Google said it’s possible for moms who have had a baby before to notice movement as early as 13 weeks so I’m sure it was him!! If these babies are this strong already I’m a bit nervous for us a couple months from now🙈😂 my first was a gymnast in there and it definitely shows now at almost 2 haha

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): avocado, box of crayons, eclair

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: appt on 9/20 with practice’s midwife and 10/17 and 10/22 for anatomy scans

How are you feeling?: TIRED! I feel like I was starting to get over the hump but have been exhausted the past two days. I also have had continuous indigestion/reflux and still am throwing up a few times a week 👎🏻

Rants/Raves: I would love to be all done with the indigestion! Nothing seems to be a safe food anymore.

Questions: Does anyone else have bad indigestion/reflux? Any natural remedies?! The only non medication I have found that helps is birch beer.

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where? We are not planning on a specific babymoon but have talked about going to VT for an overnight next month and potentially CA in December but I will be 7 months pregnant and I am considered a high risk pregnancy (age and miscarriage) so I am not sure if I will be allowed to fly and hesitant about flying should anything happen and we’d be stuck out of state with baby. We have 2 dogs who are our first babies so I would hate to be away from them for any period of time.
  • @paigemm23 The only reason we got a babymoon with the first was because my mom invited us on her honeymoon cruise. If it hadn’t been HAWAII, I probably would have declined. But that’s a once in a lifetime trip; the closest I could get to paradise without a passport.
Mine loves just stretching out and pushing me right in the belly. And I’m shocked that we got a name so quickly; I was expecting something like what you’re going through.
@doxiedoodlemama I was thinking about an overnight or a weekend at a bed and breakfast, just something to get us out of the house for a night or two, but we’re a road trip family, so anywhere we go is by car. I was planning to let Bobby go to Halloween Horror Nights for his birthday next month (which is a 13 hr drive or a 3 hr flight to stay with his brother in FL) but between money troubles and the lack of a car, it didn’t work out. Maybe next year?

Baby is the size of a (an): Peach

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: just had an US with MFM (everything looked good!) so my next appt isn't until 10/7 with regular OB

How are you feeling?: slightly better nausea wise. But absolutely exhausted and falling asleep when I put my big kids to bed by 8 lol

Rants/Raves: we started telling more people as of last weekend because it's getting harder to hide! Still need to tell the kids which might happen tonight

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where?
Nothing is planned. Maybe we'll do a weekend away but it will be a lot to manage getting coverage for the kids and dogs
  • @doxiedoodlemama I do a lot of alternating small snacks, even just a pretzel stick or 2, Peppermint, (ginger if you like it, I don't right now), and Vitamin B6 (my OB said 25mg 3x a day). I also take tums after dinner because it seems to help in the evenings

Baby is the size of a (an): Box of Crayons

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙

Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan is 10/23, nothing til then.

How are you feeling?: still tired and nauseous

Rants/Raves: Rants: Getting my EdS, working full time and having a toddler while pregnant sucks. Raves: my husband offers to bring me lunch every day now 💕

Questions: I’m not gaining weight, I assume because I’m not eating as much due to the nausea. Anyone else? My doctor doesn’t seem concerned, but I’d gained like 10 lbs by this point in my first pregnancy.

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where? No baby-moon. My friend in England is getting married this summer, so we’re saving for that instead, and planning to treat for my moms plane ticket so we have a built in babysitter.

Baby is the size of a (an): plumb

    Team blue/pink/green: pink 💕

Upcoming Appointments: 12-13 wk ultrasound next week :)

How are you feeling?: so f***ing tired. Like oh my god, the fatigue is so bad. I have no motivation to do anything, it’s horrible!

Rants/Raves: raves about my family finding out the sex this week! H was relieved for another girl (lol, he’s a total girl dad!) and DD is so excited and now says to my belly, “good night lil sis!” 🥹 my whole extended family is also so excited since we are such a girl fam all the way through!!

Questions: has anyone booked plane tickets for an international trip you plan to take an infant on before they are born?we have to book our family tickets to Greece for August in January (it will be too full and to expensive otherwise) before the baby comes, but we don’t have a name or passport or anything! So like… how does one do it?

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where? I wish, but saving all the money for Greece and the new car 😭 I’m happy about the former, not the latter, lol.

Baby is the size of a (an): Orange

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue 💙

    Upcoming Appointments: October 8

How are you feeling?: Much better. The past two days I’ve been extremely hungry and snacking more throughout the day.

    Rants/Raves: natm

    Questions: natm

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where?

I wouldn’t call it a baby moon but we are going on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas in 2 weeks. It was booked before I knew I was pregnant. It’s a 4 day cruise and I’m super excited because I feel like I really need a vacation. We’ll be going with my parents and sister as well.
  • DD / Weeks + Days: March 10/ 15 weeks +4

    FTM/STM/TTM+: first

Baby is the size of a (an): orange

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow, ultrasound before I leave for Europe for 2 weeks

How are you feeling?: I got the latest Covid vaccine Friday and have been feeling off ever since. I guess my immune system is really weak from being pregnant.

Rants/Raves: I keep getting random pesky rashes that I can’t seem to get to go away. Going to ask my doctor about it tomorrow. Also I am SO congested every morning, it’s been like this since 7 weeks at least and I swear I go through a box of tissues a week.

    Questions: none at the moment

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where? We had a few trips already planned so we aren’t sure we are taking a dedicated trip for it maybe a weekend trip closer to my due date but planning on treating parts of our upcoming trip as a baby moon of sorts
  • @laj0217 I've barely gained any weight either (but I also started out maybe 10lbs "overweight"). I'm thinking it's a combo of all the nausea limiting my intake and starting out a little heavier

@eclaire90 where are you going in Europe?! I've been itching to go back (haven't since having kids) and love to hear others travel adventures

Baby is the size of a (an): peach

    Team blue/pink/green: pink!

Upcoming Appointments: Oct 1st with regular OB, Oct 29th for anatomy scan and MFM

How are you feeling?: Much, much better - nausea has subsided and energy is returning. The feeling of relief after having our first scan a few weeks back was amazing.

Rants/Raves: shared news with wider family - so wonderful to see how happy and supportive everyone is. Lots of happy tears.

Questions: Anyone else considering a doula or used one before?

GTKY: Are you going on a babymoon? If so, where? Considering a long weekend getaway somewhere not far away for a little pre-baby retreat. Still considering options though!

@knottiea15e08d2b35824bb My delivery hospital is a teaching hospital and their nursing school has doulas!  I’m considering contacting them, just gotta let DH know.
  • @ksd20 we are going to London and Italy (Milan and Sicily). My fiancée’s cousin is getting married on Thursday in Sicily and his whole family is from there. I’m so excited for this trip we have had it planned since March

@knottiea15e08d2b35824bb my mom is gifting me a doula. Mom is a lactation consultant and gets a ton of referrals from the doula we are using. It will be nice since where I’m delivering is a BIG hospital in LA so with the doula I will get more attention.
  • @dunder_mifflin I haven’t booked pre-baby before but I’ve been researching bc we’ll be going to England for a wedding in June. It looks like you can add an infant in arms after that fact. We want to buy a seat and use the car seat, so I think we’ll have to wait to book.
  • @eclaire90 aaaaahhh have so much fun! I've been to London a couple of times and there's always so much to see/do. And I  went to Sicily on a trip in HS and loved it. Not jealous of your trip at all
  • @laj0217 Thanks so much for sharing! We will have to book before baby is born, unfortunately. Otherwise we risk either not getting tickets, or paying so much more for them! I’ll look into Air Canada policy on this, but adding an infant in arms after the fact makes sense. I may even book with a travel agent just so make my life easier, lol! We will have a 9-10 hour layover in Athens before our flight to the island. Thank god I will be with my parents, and I will ask my SIL to be our flight attendant on this one (she works for Air Canada as a flight attendant and was on our flight to Greece last year when norah was 3.5, and it was an AMAZING help!).

England in June will be so lovely!!!!
  • @dunder_mifflin a mom in my other bump group said her mom (also a flight attendant) told them to bring the flight staff treats and it would make flying with a baby much better lol. Can your sister confirm? 😂 But seriously, the more family on a flight with a baby the better!
  • @laj0217 hahaha! Ive heard her say this is helpful! But she loves babies and helps out with them on flights anyway. She’s 17 years older than H and our niece is going to med school soon and our nephews are in university, so she’s really missing having littles, lol.
