Forgetting Vitamin D

please tell me other moms have forgotten to give their little ones the Vitamin D drops?? I have forgotten so often and it’ll hit me here and there that I have forgotten to give it to him a lot and i am STRESSING. Is he going to be okay? He’s 4 months and so healthy with zero issues so far!

Re: Forgetting Vitamin D

  • Oh ya. I can never remember lol. I have a 4 month old too. It was the same with my first. He’ll be fine :)

  • umm we are supposed to be giving them vitamin D drops?! I have a 3 month old and have never given him that once. No doctor had told me that! What is it for?
  • Same! I feel terrible but I don’t think it’s the end of the world.
  • They recommend it for breastfeeding infants because breastmilk is deficient in vitamin d.
  • Oh ok. Mine is formula fed so that’s probably why I wasn’t informed. Thank you for the response!
  • One thing that helped me not forget is to add it to the first bottle of the morning. If you are EB, giving the drops will be a challenge. But if you are combo feeding or exclusively bottle, add the drop to the first morning bottle and it becomes part of your routine. Good luck!
  • Yeeeeaaahh I’m right there with you! I also have a 4 month old and have forgotten the vitamin D drops often!
  • I also give them in the morning after changing the diaper and cleaning the baby's face—this is the only way for me to remember.
  • If you are EB, that alone gives your baby what he needs. It is a myth saying that breastmilk is deficient in what the baby needs. But if you want to boost his immunity, improve his vision, skin, and nails, and support brain development, D drops are the way to go. The best way to avoid forgetting it is to place the drops close to the changing table. I do that with D and probiotics, so I can't forget it every morning. If it is still hard for you, increase your D intake so you will pass a larger amount of D to the baby via breastmilk. I actually do both :)
