  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Jan 3rd / 13w 3d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): Lemon

Team blue/pink/green: Blue - I think.  I had an ultrasound on Friday and the tech asked if she could tell what it is would I want to know.  And right before she asked I was pretty sure I saw what she saw lol.  She said that it's still early but she was sure enough to say something.  She said to tell her if she was right when my blood work comes in.

    Upcoming Appointments: July 26th

How are you feeling?: I don't want to jinx it but I haven't had really bad nausea in about a week.  I have had some mild nausea but that I can deal with.

Rants/Raves: I'm pretty sure I felt the baby move about 4 times this weekend.  It took me so long to feel anything with my first and even then I wasn't sure for the longest time if I did  but with this one I'm like 99% sure I felt it.  It's still a wild feeling to me so it doesn't seem real.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?

Book - Perks of Being a Wallflower - I just loved the style of writing and the storyline was great.
Movie - August: Osage County - My husband and I quote that movie all the time.  Like probably once a day at least.
TV show - I have 3: Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, and Psych.  I just loved all of these and watched them religiously when they came out.  I just loved the writing of all three shows.  I started watching Supernatural because of Gilmore Girls (Jared Padalecki) and I'm so glad I did.  Psych is just so fun and I love that there are running jokes throughout the whole series.

Baby is the size of a (an): lemon 🍋

    Team blue/pink/green:

We found out we’re having a girl on Saturday.

    Upcoming Appointments:

    July 24

    How are you feeling?:

Okay- mentally I’m still up and down a lot and still having a lot of fatigue. Most of the other physical symptoms subsided a few weeks ago.

    Rants/Raves:

I’ve been told my multiple people to start getting on daycare lists now and that is so overwhelming at this point. 😞

    Questions:

Does your insurance cover the quad screen or other second trimester tests?

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?

Midnight library was an absolute favorite and wouldn’t be the same rereading.

  • @knottie I have a mom from my last BMB that lives in that area and she was looking at daycares really early too.  I can't imagine.  Where I live there isn't much of a waitlist.  Sorry you are going through that stress.

As for insurance, mine only covers the regular visits.  Anything additional we have to pay for until we reach our deductible.  Once our deductible is met, most things are paid for 100% or there is a copay of $50-$250.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 1/22/25 11 Weeks

Baby is the size of a (an): lime

Team blue/pink/green: Sneak Peak says 💗. I had my Panorama test on Monday so we’ll have confirmation sometime in the next two weeks

    Upcoming Appointments: nothing until 7/23

    How are you feeling?:

tired! I spent most of Friday at a Luke Bryan concert and got in about 23k steps. Saturday I was a complete zombie and took 3 separate naps throughout the day. Sunday was a little better, but I still ended up sleeping 9hrs and then taking several naps. Your girl cannot hang lol.

Rants/Raves: I’m so ready to get to actual baby bump status and not just extra bloaty and fluffy looking.

    Questions:

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?

Book: Haunting Adeline. Lots of content warnings, but one of those books you’ll always remember.

Movie: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Even though I have a myriad of comfort movies, this is my absolute favorite! It’s a timeless romance with an ending that makes me cry every time.

TV Series: The Haunting of Hill House.

  • @kamays54 im 14 weeks now i also am pretty sure i felt baby on Monday evening. At first i thought it was gas but then i felt it again and i was no….thats not gas. Ive felt that flutter before!! The earliest ive felt anything with my other 2 was almost 18 weeks! And same story as far as gender. The ultrasound tech said its early but we all saw a penis clear as day😂 i’ll be shocked if its different at the anatomy scan😂

Baby is the size of a (an): lemon

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: just had an anatomy scan yesterday which was perfect 💙 Next OB appt is July 30th

How are you feeling?: It’s amazing how much better I feel overall! It’s like a fog has lifted. Still exhausted though.

Rants/Raves: All the gear and registry and multiple moving parts is overwhelming. I need to get organized at some point but I’m just not ready yet.

    Questions: none

GTKY: Tough question for my brain made of mush. I love Harry Potter and I would absolutely reread the series. I’ve read so many amazing books, mostly I love a long series because it takes me a long time to read it! I love all travel and food shows which I rewatch all the time. Somebody Feed Phil is probably one of my favs.

Baby is the size of a (an): lime

Team blue/pink/green: green (should find out soon)

    Upcoming Appointments: 7/18

How are you feeling?: physically good, definitely the best I have in a few weeks. I am pretty exhausted though

Rants/Raves: I bought my husband/father of the baby a first time dad journal/book a couple weeks ago and he hasn’t even cracked it open yet. I’m trying to tell myself he appreciated the gesture, but I’m trying to find more ways to include him in the process of pregnancy.

Questions: see Rants/Raves - how do you all loop in the father into your experience of pregnancy?

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?
Chasing the Scream - I’m a nonfiction girl, and this book was such a great page turner
I Love You, Man - I saw this in theatres back in like 2009 and I remember laughing the whole way through; I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed that hard at a movie.
  • @Mamazon2014 I forgot about Hill House.  That was so good.

@babywiik my first was after 20 weeks.  I don't remember exactly when but I remember being at the anatomy scan and while she was getting all the measurements my daughter was moving around a lot and she asked if I could feel it and I couldn't feel a thing lol.  It was really weird to see her so active and not feel it.

@jojosesame I had such a hard time with my registry and was overwhelmed.  I started the baby gear/product thread to hopefully try and help some FTM.  In my last BMB another FTM suggested a book called Baby Bargains but there is also a website.  They review tons of baby gear and they pay for everything themselves so they don't get any kickback for their reviews.  It definitely helped me narrow down certain things.

How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good, just tired and not much of an appetite. Had an appointment Monday and both babies are growing and looking good, so that was a huge reassurance. We got to see them moving around which was also just amazing to see.

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?
Hmmmm my husband and I got really into Silo last year, super fun with all the twists and turns

Baby is the size of a (an): plum

    Team blue/pink/green: blue (!)

Upcoming Appointments: July 12. It can't come soon enough

How are you feeling?: So many feelings these days! since we found out it's a boy, everything feels so much more real, but at the same time, I've had two previous unsuccessful pregnancies so I'm still nervous that this one won't last either. I'm trying not to dwell on it but I can't wait for the next scan! Physically I'm ok, I have a little bump which makes me so happy, but this week I've developed what I think is acid reflux-induced congestion/cough/sore throat, which is so miserable. But, I try to remind myself that every new symptom means things are still progressing.

Rants/Raves: I think it's going to take us the full pregnancy to decide on a name! NOTHING sounds good. I can't stop thinking about it.

Questions: Has anyone had cramping without bleeding during weeks 10-11-12-13? I haven't had any spotting at all, and any cramps mostly eased up after the first 8 weeks, but last night I cramped up for a bit and it made me really nervous (even though no bleeding).

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?
For TV, probably Parks & Recreation. It's one of my all-time favorites, I rewatch it often, but that first time was a delight.
For books, The Scholomance trilogy by Naomi Novik. I recommend it to literally everyone - if you like fantasy, take my word for it and read these!
  • @fk18 My husband has been coming to all of the scans with me and I think that helps. He also has a dad book that I'm pretty sure he hasn't read, but I think it feels more real for him now that we found out the baby's sex, so maybe that will be the case for your husband too. I also started a Baby To-Do list to keep track of everything, which I shared with him - that's still driven by me, but it prompted some questions from him that I'm sure he hadn't thought about yet. I think that for many guys, it just doesn't feel real as early because they aren't experiencing the physicality of it.
  • @fk18 with my first it took a long time for it to feel real to both of us.  My husband came to all of my appointments and because I was high risk we had extra ultrasounds.  Even seeing the baby it didn't seem real to us.  He started to get more involved and excited when we started putting together what we wanted to put on the registry.  And also when we started talking about names.  We waited a while to talk about that, again probably because we were both still in shock that it was actually happening.

@strongishmom I just started having some cramping yesterday (13 weeks), no bleeding.  I'm pretty sure it is round ligament pain.  I remember with my first getting really worried and looking up what it could be and found that.  I think it typically starts at the beginning of the second trimester but it can start earlier.  Also, a few nights recently I have woke up with really bad acid reflux.  It is not fun.
  • fk18fk18 member
@kamays54 and @strongishmom, I just learned what round ligament pain is and I think I’ve been having it! Kind of like stinging/aching/pulling that lasts seconds to minutes when I move wrong or cough or sneeze! Also have had no bleeding yet.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: January 2-18 (have another measuring on the 10th to verify due date!)

Baby is the size of a (an): plum

Team blue/pink/green: pink (but don't tell my partner lol)

    Upcoming Appointments: 7/10!

    How are you feeling?: gross.

Rants/Raves: why does no one talk about the hardships pregnancy can bring?

Questions: Sometimes, when I sneeze, I get this sharp pain usually on the right side around my pelvic bone... is this normal?

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?: Fourth wing/ACOTAR. Anyone who's read these books knows why.

Baby is the size of a (an): beet

    Team blue/pink/green: green

    Upcoming Appointments: 19 July

How are you feeling?: Starting to level out I think. Every once in awhile something triggers my nausea randomly but at least not enough to vomit. I'm getting really tired of peeing 4-6 times a night though.

Rants/Raves: Even thought I'm out of first trimester I am still feeling nervous... it's like some days I still can't believe I'm pregnant.

Questions: Any cute ideas for how to announce to older siblings? my kids are 7 and 10 so old enough to really understand but I want it to be a fun surprise.

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?
House. I remember really enjoying it a lot and just feeling absorbed into it. Though its been so long maybe it would feel like the first time.

  • @kamays54 amazing! Thank you for the recommendation!
  • @strongishmom yes, I experience cramping on and off almost every week. I believe that it is growth and I’m just really sensitive to every bit of stretching and changing. I’ve never had any bleeding and baby is perfect BUT it really scares me because it can feel so similar to menstrual cramps. One difference for me though, they are never so strong or sharp that I require Tylenol and usually ease up after a bit.

Baby is the size of a (an): Lime

    Team blue/pink/green: Green still

Upcoming Appointments: just had one yesterday ❤️

How are you feeling?: So. Much. Better. I’ve felt good since the weekend and it was literally like I woke up and a veil of awfulness had lifted. I turned to my husband and actually said, “wow, I really did feel like crap the past few weeks!” At first it freaked me out because feeling bad was kind of my reassurance that baby was okay. But my appointment yesterday showed that everything is fine and I may just be getting some early relief. So so so thankful

Rants/Raves: Wishing I had a mega phone where I could tell the whole world how TERRIBLE the first trimester is because that was awful and not enough people talk about it

    Questions: None at the moment

    GTKY:
book - Harry Potter or LOTR of course. The Licanius Trilogy is a good one that I’ve read more recently. If not into fantasy, Educated was excellent as well

TV show - The Office (US), Parks and Rec, Supernatural, Gilmore Girls
  • Totally empathize...i had 2 losses previously and am having so many ups and downs in the hope department. I've been having cramps as well pretty mild except for one 20min span last week. Already had NIPT scan which all says low risk but going for an NT on July 11.

    Wonderful recs!
  • fk18fk18 member
I wonder if others are doing NT following NIPT low risk results? My OB said there was no reason to because the NT scan was less accurate…

Rants/Raves: my husband got me honey but cheerios instead of Cinnamon Toast Crunch 😂

Questions:  is anyone else not excited about their bump/upcoming bump?

GTKY: What book, movie, and/or TV show do you wish you could read/watch again for the first time and why?  SATC. Just love it

Oops I may have gotten confused. Kinda new here. I was team pink as in I really want a girl. But we did sneak peek and it said boy. I know sneak peek can be wrong but I’m guessing it’s probably right with my husbands family and I’ll get used to it hah I already am!  I’m excited either way!  I do hope to get a girl one day ❤️
  • I dont mind the bump so much but im not looking forward to how uncomfortable it can be🫠
