How are you feeling?: baby is moving like crazy, I'm tired and waddling be it doing ok. Ankles are swelling pretty consistently though.
Rants/Raves: I passed my glucose test! Still anemic but I was happy to enjoy my PB eggs for Easter lol.
Questions: none
GTKY: Any Easter plans? I went to my dad's church and then his house (2hour trip) for lunch and then back home to my husbands family for dinner. Kids had way to much sugar and all slept in today as they have off of school.
Upcoming Appointments: We’re now at the “every 2 weeks” stage where I feel like I live at the OBGYN’s office, with MFM sprinkled in too
How are you feeling?: The first trimester insomnia and exhaustion seem to be coming back around again. Also having some annoying hip and tailbone pain, but that seems about right seeing how big this bump is!
Rants/Raves: We have a tentative date set for the c section. They booked us at 36.5, but made it clear that the MFM has the final say, so it’s subject to change. The OBGYN also warned me that if I start bleeding before then all bets are off. I feel like I’m walking on eggshells for the rest of this pregnancy! I’m really nervous to deliver so early but the planner in me finds it helpful to have a date in the calendar. Oh, and I finally bought a car big enough to fit all the kids in, so that’s a big win.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: Any Easter plans? We had a really low key Easter. I wasn’t up for hosting and my parents are helping my sister with childcare this week and no one was up for traveling anyway. So it worked out perfectly.
Upcoming Appointments: April 12 for check up and chiro
How are you feeling?: been dreaming a lot at night again which makes my sleep even worse. Starting to feel out of breath especially when I walk and just overall large lol
Rants/Raves: rant - only one pair of my pants fit comfortably 😭 with my son I was able to wear dresses at this point but it’s still too cold here rave - the snow is almost gone and the weather looks like it’s finally warming up which means I’ll be able to spend more time outside with my 17mo!
Questions:
GTKY: Any Easter plans? I hosted Easter supper on Friday for my husbands family and it was so nice to not have to watch my son at my mil’s house (she has way too much “stuff” that he can get into and it’s exhausting). We were at my parents yesterday and my mom planned a big egg hunt which was so fun!
Upcoming Appointments: 3rd trimester growth scan on 4/11; Midwives appointment on 4/23
How are you feeling?: Having some lower back pain (need to do my PT exercises!) and had some major anxiety this weekend after feeling like baby was moving less (solved after my husband took our toddler out so I could hydrate and do some real kick counting and destressing), but other than that pretty good
Rants/Raves:
Rave - We installed a murphy bed in what used to be our guest bedroom so it could be a combo office/guest bedroom and it looks so good! I'm so happy with how it turned out and how functional this space will be now. The pieces have been sitting in my office for months, so it's so nice to not have to walk through a maze to get to my desk anymore. And a second rave is we are taking a trip to Denver this weekend which should be fun!
Rant - Just can't believe how close we are to these babies coming. I'm of course very excited and happy, but also stressed and nervous.
Questions: Anyone have experience with NSTs that can share what to expect and any tips? I was AMA last pregnancy too, but my old OB did ultrasounds as biometric scans rather than NSTs, so they are new to me this time around!
GTKY: Any Easter plans? We don't celebrate Easter, but it was my husbands birthday this weekend so we did lots of activities to celebrate that and had so much fun!
@curlyandpreggo We ended up with a lightly used Chevy Traverse. It’s a lot bigger than my Subaru, but it checked all the boxes and should hopefully continue to work for our family as the kids grow.
@curlyandpreggo I’ve had a few NSTs in prior pregnancies. They have you sit reclined with a fetal heart rate and contraction monitor strapped to your belly. There’s also a handheld clicker that you press every time you feel movement. Usually they would monitor me for 30 min. Pretty easy!
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday for a check-up, ultrasound in a few weeks
How are you feeling?: slowing down and feeling more tired but still generally doing well. I still have a million things to do/buy before baby comes (car seat, stroller, rocker, lots of little things, potentially a bigger car).
Rants/Raves: Rave—passed my glucose test; Rant—just got bloodwork back showing I’m slightly anemic so I’ll likely have to start iron supplements. Waiting on my thyroid results and hoping those are okay.
Questions:
GTKY: Any Easter plans? Egg hunt, dinner at the in-laws
Upcoming Appointments: now every 2 weeks- April 10
How are you feeling?: This last week was rough. I had a rough time after my tdap shot last week and then got a cold immediately after that. Not being able to use cold medicine is no fun. I am finally starting to feel a little like myself again but the sneezing and coughing are still difficult since I don’t want to we myself 10 times a day haha
Rants/Raves: Raves: the nursery is starting to come together. I have no idea where everything’s permanent spot will be but at least most of the stuff is now there Rant: like many of you have said, the tiredness from the first trimester is back and I am really struggling to motivate myself to do movement. Even the neighborhood walks are getting hard.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: Any Easter plans? As I mentioned I was sick so we just had a layer back Easter. I made carrot cake cupcakes and we had some ham and potatoes
@curlyandpreggo my specialist Dr wants me to have an NST done as well. I am meeting with an MFM soon so I had the same question! @jenEP thanks for the response that is really helpful!
@maggiemadeit rooting for you that baby keeps cooking as long as possible. I had my twins at exactly 34 weeks and both girls are now happy, healthy and their development is right on track! Early always feels scary but you are almost to 30 weeks now!!
@kbtt2022 Thank you! I love hearing positive stories! When your girls came early did they have to spend time in the NICU? My biggest fear is baby girl having to go to the NICU becuase our hospital doesn't have one, so she would have to go without me, and I can't bear the thought of being separated.
@maggiemadeit They did spend 19 days in NICU. They were there for feeding support. No breathing issues or O2 required at all. So they had NG tubed and we practiced BF every feed. The 1st few days were really odd because I was on the mother baby unit without my babies and because i was on magnesium still I wasn't allowed to visit the NICU unless attended by my nurse. As soon as I was discharged I lived in the NICU on the sofa until we were able to go home. Being in the NICU wasn't easy but I was grateful for the care and so happy they girls were so healthy.
Re: Weekly Check-in w/o 3/31
GTKY: Any Easter plans? Church followed by low key day after a week away. I did cook an Easter dinner for the fam. The girls love the creamed corn.
