Doctor heard two heart beats

At 18 weeks doctor heard heart beat on left side then wanted to check right side and there was another.  I am expecting a boy. This made me wonder if two.  I know the placenta has a beat. I tried at home.  I heard one at 154 another at 127 then one at ,66. Does it sound like a twin was hiding or is it  the placenta?

    Have you had an ultrasound yet? Most twin pregnancies are pretty easy to spot, especially at your anatomy ultrasound. Usually the placenta beats at around the same rate as the baby.
