    Those who had previous groups migrate, how did yours handle it? Maybe we can decide from those options how we want to do it?  

    When my jan17 group migrated over we had a separate thread where everyone who was interested commented and everyone “loved” their comment to indicate they agreed with inviting them to the group. It didn’t have to be unanimous but we did require a certain number of votes to get in (I want to say 5? I can go back and look). We did have quite a few random people who tried to get in that had barely participated at all who were ultimately declined. Once a person was approved they got a DM with a link to the group and once they joined they had to post a bump photo holding a piece of paper with their bump name and the days date and a secret word or they were removed and blocked. I think the bump has done away with private messages though so I’m not sure how we could replicate that now.

    @ceclarlinetlo that's basically exactly how my April '22 BMB did it and it worked well for us. The private message feature still works, but maybe you have to log on to a computer to get it to work.

    Our group rules are: This is a safe place: no hate speech, racism, criticism etc., No promotions or spam, Respect other people's privacy,  Three strike policy (with some specifics for people to get kicked out, we've never needed it though), no politics or conspiracy theories. My BMB is extremely drama free and it's super nice but I know some other people have had drama llamas that ended up in their private groups so it's nice to have some rules established.

    I would also like to second what someone said in the weekly check in, my previous BMB keeps posts topical on Facebook (except birth announcements) and it really helps keep things organized. The chaos of everyone posting their own posts for questions and things would be too much. So now we do a weekly randoms thread and a HDBD thread is about all since our kids are older and we don't check in as much. If people want to have another type of thread occasionally, they usually ask in the randoms. 

    We could definitely keep a weekly check in, randoms, HDBD and the GD thread for now!

    My Jan 22 group kept it simple. We would just do monthly check ins, post photos of the kiddos as they got bigger, and birth stories at the beg. We transitioned over I think once we all started hitting about 34-36 weeks

    My others have first voted for 3 moderators. People could nominate themselves or someone else and we all liked the comments. The 3 with the highest votes were asked to be moderators.

    Moderators then made a thread where everyone who wanted to join could comment and group members liked their comment. Those with at least an “x” amount of votes were private messaged the link to the private Fb group.

    @ceclarlinetlo that’s basically the same as how my May19 group handled the swap. I think our photo had to include a spoon and our bump names with the date😂

    @night_nurse i like the idea of voting for moderators. I don’t think that happened for my M19 group and it became divisive. We ended up with a lot of drama between them.

    Similar process in my last two as well. We also started with daily or weekly threads when babies were very little, then moved to monthly as they got older.

    My Nov20 group did similar to all of you when we moved. We voted on mods and they decided how/who would be allowed to join. We must have taken a pic or something yo prove who we were, although I don't remember doing it. Things have been 100% drama free ever since and we also do weekly randoms threads plus sometimes a HDBD thread.

    @ceclarlinetlo My July20 group did something similar but we moved over kind of early (March 2020) because of the pandemic/the bump being a clunky site. There was some amount of picture taking + username situation but we didn't have a lot of randos trying to get in I believe.

    June 20 here. We moved early. There was usually a hdbd post, a "randoms" post for chatting and periodic chosen topical posts. If I remember right, we messaged the mod here who sent the secret link and then you had to post a pic of yourselves with an object, your screen name and a date on a piece of paper. I think we used a ruler.

    I would like to move whenever people are ready. I'd really like a small supportive group on Facebook where I spend the most time. I've been in one of the Facebook groups chats in a larger group and while there are only 10-12 that participate it's not private at all. Plus I'm feeling outsider-ish and having a hard time right now so I'm ready ASAP! 😊

    I am willing to be a mod if we have a hard time finding them, but I think there are a lot of level headed, experienced people who participate often in this group that would make great mods!

    You are so kind. I wasn’t planning to volunteer but I would consider it if others felt similarly. If it were a big group I would decline but a group our size should be manageable.

    I would be willing to do it, but I will say I have no experience as a mod in a fb group, and I am not 100% sure how much time I will have once the twins are here.

    I second the nominations for @night_nurse and @ceclarlinetlo , and would add that @SpartanCat or @dinomeetsjedi would also be good candidates!

    I would love to mod and help get the group established. I see this being a very low drama group. Everyone would still have the ability to create posts and threads of interest if mods slow down. Im going to post individual posts for each of the members who have been nominated to mod. Like a total of 3 names that you’d like to see mod. The 3 with most likes will be picked.
