Are you experiencing a tightness or a burning sensation? If it's tightness, definitely bring it up with your care team because that could be a heart thing. If it's a burning sensation, you might be dealing with heartburn. I hadn't really experienced it before getting pregnant with our toddler, but it is definitely a prominent pregnancy symptom in my life. I keep tums on hand, and they usually knock it out pretty quickly and effectively. You have to be careful to monitor how many you're taking, though, because the calcium can cause other problems if you take too much. If you can't find quick relief from OTC options (your OB office might have a list of other approved options on their website - mine has a whole list divided by complaint), call the office and see what they can do for you.
We definitely recommend taking Tums to see if it's treatable heartburn (extremely common with pregnancy), and if that doesn't work please contact a health provider ASAP!!
