Everyone is different. I am 10w with baby #1 and have people that know I'm pregnant but not how far along shocked when I say 10 weeks. YES, I know that it probably not my uterus but you can obviously tell I am pregnant and I don't physically feel bloated like I did with periods and it was just a band of bloat above my pants line. Everyone's body is different. Some show sooner and some barely show at 40 weeks. There is a model that has gained popularity online for being 39 weeks pregnancy and doesn't look a day past 16-18 weeks. Everyone is just different believes different. Everyone told me when we were TTC that I could never know if i ovulated if I didn't temp yet we had sex twice our first month off of birth control and we got pregnant. Coincidence? Maybe. I just love to see women supporting and encouraging one another. If you think you look pregnant, chances are, you do! Enjoy it!! :)

My mom wanted to take a week 7 photo and I said, "mom, there's no bump yet, I'm just fat." =))

So funny my mom asked me if I was showing and I said no just fat a couple weeks ago.
  • I was a size 0 when I got pregnant with my first. I was bloated, but bloated in the form of a baby bump at 4 weeks, and by 10 weeks I was most definitely showing, I'm 7 weeks today and my hips have definitely widened already, I'm not allowing yet because I've gained weight since my first. I can't wait to stay showing though!
  • So, I was thinking about this today and to be clear I really don't care when I start showing as long as this 6.5 months fly by and I have a healthy baby. But, what I think is missing is the definition of "showing". Our baby bellies don't go from bloat to being the size where people can notice over night. They have to grow to that size. So, baby bumps might not be visible to strangers, but our baby bumps are growing (they have to be-they cannot go from this o to this O overnight), each day baby is growing-I understand that the baby is still behind the pelvic bone. However if the eta of our baby bumps is between 12-16 weeks then our bellies have to start to grow to accomadate that "showing" bump and growing baby. Just something I was thinking about-again think o to O.
  • I'm 7 weeks with my second and I had a pouch too last week. It went away this week. As exciting as it is to finally get the baby bump, at this stage, it's just bloat.
  • When the doctor does an ultrasound looking for baby, they don't scan your entire belly, top to bottom, because they KNOW where your uterus is at in each stage. They scan that particular area, not the entire belly--no matter how much it protrudes from bloat.

Your baby isn't even the size of your fist at this stage; your baby can't possibly make your belly expand that much this early, and your uterus doesn't go, "eh, I'm going to get huge eventually, might as well get huge now!" It's a process, though yes, subsequent pregnancies your body adjusts quicker. Bloating absolutely can make your belly expand. Ever eat a big meal and your belly looks bigger than normal? Yeah.

I'm all for getting excited when you're finally showing, but you might as well wait until you're showing from baby and not bloat; it'll be more special that way.
  • I am 10 weeks and look 5 months! This is my third pregnancy and I'm not overweight
  • I got maternity trousers today, melon smuggler ones. Love them! Figured blump will be baby in 3 or so weeks so why not be comfy now. Plus I look much less chubby and like a have a very cute and tiny baby bump.
  • Yes! I'm 7+2 and I am definitely showing!
