How are you feeling: tired and anxious

Rants / Raves: rave: I got have dinner with 2 of the ladies from my oldest’s bmb! It’s crazy we’ve been talking to each other for 7 years now. I’d met them both before Covid but it’s been so long! It was really nice!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?: I remember changing my mind a lot. I think my longest was an archeologist but I did not end up doing that 😂

    FTM/STM/STM+: Baby #5

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Surprise

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: A giant

Upcoming appointments: We're at weekly appointments. Last endo appt before kiddo is here on Thursday followed by the MFM also on Thursday.

How are you feeling: Huge. I tire so easily.

Rants / Raves: Teenagers are huge balls of hormones that make ZERO sense and are constantly working at perfecting their selective hearing abilities. A warning for those of you who don't yet have teenagers. Run and hide while you still can...

I spent Saturday doing one of my favorite things - watching DD1 play in her volleyball tournament. Her team played 3 rounds. The first 2 they beat the other school in the first 2 games, didn't need to go to #3. Their only competition came with the 3 school they played. DD1's team lost but they fought. So proud of those ladies!

    Questions:

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?:

    1. President of the United States

    2. First professional female basketball player (I'm so old this was prior to the WNBA :( )

    3. A paleontologist

    4. A wife and mom

1 out of 4 isn't bad I guess considering the loftiness of those goals. LoL

  • @varimama that's so fun you got to meet up with BMB friends! I've met one of the ladies that I've known from TTGP for like 5+ years but have yet to actually get our act together to meet up with anyone else.
@UnwritteN12 Your babe is measuring like 2.5x the size of mine right now and I feel like I couldn't possibly get any bigger, so I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. Hang in there mama!

    Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/11, 32+3

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Girl!

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: She's a wee one so who knows

    Upcoming appointments: OB appt tomorrow

How are you feeling: Physically, still pretty good. Except my belly feels like you could literally pop it like a balloon right now. Still trying to fathom how baby needs to basically double in body weight still.

    Rants / Raves:
Rant: The pregnancy insomnia has kicked in hard and of course everyone has an opinion on what I should do for it. Just leave me alone and let me stay up til 3am reading trashy romance novels. No I don't need another pillow. No I don't want to sleep in another room.
Rave: We took our maternity photos last week, saw a really early sneak peek last night and some of them are soooo cute! Can't wait to get the rest of them back from our photographers.

Questions: Should I have some formula on hand for when baby arrives just in case my milk doesn't come in right away?

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?: A veterinarian.

    Upcoming appointments: tomorrow

How are you feeling: I am still hating sleeping on my side, do not understand how some people choose this sleeping position when they aren’t forced to

Rants / Raves: I cannot believe how fast time is going, low key freaking out over entering the sub 10 week mark. Feeling like there’s still so much to do around the new house that I was hoping would be done before the baby got here!

    Questions:

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?: I wanted to be a dentist for a loooonngggg time for no reason other than everyone would always tell me how nice my teeth were so I thought it made sense? 😂

  • @UnwritteN12 no teenagers for me yet… just a threenager that already makes me want to run and hide 😂
  • @fitandnerdy I’m with you on side sleeping! I hate it!

@kiki047 I love a good trashy romance novel! I’m afraid to start a new one because I always stay up way too late reading them

@varimama that’s so cool you’re meeting up with peeps from your bmb! DD’s bmb was really close for awhile but got really quiet during the pandemic and now is basically non existent. I wish we had done more meetups before

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: a bunch of asparagus.

    Upcoming appointments: ob/bpp/nst tomorrow

How are you feeling: physically just really uncomfortable. Hate side sleeping and this is by far the biggest I’ve been of any pregnancy. Everything hurts and I can’t stand very long. Anxiety is a total nightmare. Pregnancy after loss is really freakin hard.

Rants / Raves: rave: I got a maxi dress (with pockets!) from Amazon months ago that I totally forgot about. Finally opened it and it’s SO comfortable. Rant: but I wore it to carpool pickup 2 days in a row because literally I wore it for an hour yesterday and then was back in house pjs and also DD gets out at different times so it’s different teachers and my kid goes “why are you wearing that again!?” Kids will rat you out! 😂

    Questions: none

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?: An actor/singer. Then in high school I did costumes for a play I was also in, which helped me realize I absolutely hated being onstage, but loved working in theater, so I realized my calling was backstage work.

    Upcoming appointments:

    Rants / Raves:

Rant: I’m ready to be done lol

Rave: nesting has kicked in. My van is immaculate and the car seat is installed lol. Now on to organize little boy’s stuff!

    Questions:

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?:

A starving musician lol. I planned to just work whatever odd jobs I could to pay the bills and then be able to make and preform music.

After I was done with that I wanted to be a freelance journalist that reported on human rights violations around the world.

Never in a million years did I think I’d be a wife and SAHM 😂

  • Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: November 26th; 30+3

    FTM/STM/STM+: 4TM

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Surprise

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: Tail-less platypus or cantaloupe

    Upcoming appointments: Next week

How are you feeling: Tired still, but good overall

Rants / Raves: Raves: We've got a full schedule for the next 3-4 weekends. It'll be good to get all the activities in before baby arrives. Work is also busy but going well. Rants: We have 3 boys. This baby was a bonus, unexpected addition. If 1 more person makes noise about "Oh my goodness, you could finally get your girl!" I may completely snap. We have never cared what we have. I was completely happy being a boy mom. Also, why in the world would people think it's okay to say this in front of the boys? So yeah, that hasn't been my favorite.

    Questions:

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?: I wanted to be a veterinarian. I ended up working with animals, but not as a vet.

@varimama I hope your glucose test goes well today! I'm glad dinner was fun. I went to a weekend meetup for DS3's BMB this summer, and it was so much fun.

@UnwritteN12 Teenage hormones scare me lol. Are boys easier than girls because I've been banking on the "harder to keep alive on the front end, but easier to take care of on the back end."

@kiki047 I had formula on hand for DS2, but never used it, and I ended up donating it. I usually just nurse until my milk comes in. I've always had a good milk supply, so it's never been an issue.

@fitandnerdy I hate all the sleeping positions right now. Time is absolutely flying right now. I also have pretty much nothing done, but I'm still happily living in my denial bubble - I'll freak out later lol.

@shinyobjects I swear we want kids to talk, and then they start telling on us when we wear something twice lol. I hope your anxiety eases for you as you move into the pregnancy home stretch. PGAL is so hard.

@Kiek I'm glad you can breathe again! Nesting with DS3 resulted in my car always being immaculate. It got a little better, but my car being dirty still bothers me.

@kiki047 I personally wouldn't bother... its normal for it to take a few days for your milk to come in and baby doesn't need any more than the colostrum you'll be producing. If you end up having trouble, usually a pediatrician office has some samples on hand to use right away.

@makingbacon trust me if I had a dollar for everytime someone asked me if we were getting a girl this time.... $$$$. And the comments in front of my boys are horrible. The worst was a complete stranger saying "you can't win". So rude!!

@varimama that's so fun!! I've gotten to meet several people from my different groups and it's just the best!

Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: Nov 18; 31+4

    FTM/STM/STM+: 5th

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: boy

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: a foam number 1 finger

    Upcoming appointments: next week

How are you feeling: I have always loved pregnancy but my body is feeling very done. Idk if its 5th baby or just being older. I know I will miss it when it's over so trying to remind myself to enjoy it now even though I feel huge, uncomfortable, and can't move without grunting.

Rants / Raves: it's been beautiful early fall weather here this week!!

    Questions:

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?: a mom, a teacher, an Olympic gymnast

  • @kiki047 if you wanted to get like a can to have on hand you could but when I unexpectedly ended up needing formula with DS1 the hospital sent us home with a couple days worth of ready to feed formula and nipples for those so we had time to run out and get more and sterilize bottles and stuff. I never needed it with DS2 he was happy with my colostrum until my milk came in! DS1 only needed supplemented with formula bc of latching issues due to a short NICU stay.

I will say the dual feeding or whatever they called it where I was trying to nurse the baby, failing, then pumping while DH fed him either breastmilk or formula was probably the hardest thing I had to do with either of my kids so far. It was physically exhausting and emotionally tormenting… so be kind to yourself if that happens and know you aren’t alone and it gets better!

  • @makingbacon I don’t get why people are so concerned with anyone else’s kids genitals… I get so many people asking if we’ll try for a girl once they hear this is boy 3! I’m just like nope I’m thrilled to be a boy mom! Sometimes I’m like oh I’ll miss out on prom dress shopping or something else silly but then I’m like wait who knows if I had a daughter if she’d even want to wear a prom dress or if she’d want me to go with her anyways! It’s all ridiculous and out of our control!

  • @kiki047 I had a little can for my oldest that I would use occasionally. I had no idea what to expect with breastfeeding and after 6 weeks, my pumping supply is nothing. But I’m basically a Jersey cow so with my youngest I didn’t have formula on hand.

@makingbacon I have two girls and my husband is the last of his name lol on his dad’s side of the family. My husband never cared lol but all the men in his family seemed to super care. Now that I’m having a boy they are all so happy 🙃.

@varimama that’s so fun! My BMB group from my youngest is all super close. There is an annual girls’ trip and lots of regional meetups. We all talk almost every day and have for the last almost 8 years now 😳
  • @runsoncoffee It was amazing how many people were disappointed when DS3 was a boy. We were absolutely done (aka I sold all the baby things lol). DH's family was the worst, and they initially wanted a boy so he could carry on the family name. They didn't mind that DS2 was a boy because we'd always said 3, but then DS3 apparently should have been a girl? I can't imagine having anyone say that to me about not being able to win! My boys are amazing humans, and I'm sure yours are too.
@varimama I also love being a boy mom. The energy and shenanigans are crazy sometimes, but they are so fun and complete sweethearts. Prom dresses are also so freaking expensive lol.
@Kiek DH's family was very invested in us having at least 1 boy to carry on the family name. My boys currently are the only boys in that generation (DH's siblings + cousins) who will carry on the name because the rest of them are girls. My family didn't care. I was the last hope on my dad's side of the family for a boy, and that obviously didn't work out.
  • @Kiek that makes me so mad for your girls! Maybe I’m projecting. My cousins on my dad side were all girls and I was a girl so when my little brother was born everyone freaked out about carrying on the family name. It was so hurtful to see how much more important he was just because he was born a boy. They would do annual generation pictures where I wasn’t allowed to be in them and stuff… funny enough I now will have 3 boys and he only has a girl so looks like the name isn’t going far…

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of:

    Upcoming appointments:

I had an ultrasound yesterday and my 34w appointment is on Tuesday

    How are you feeling:

My hips are starting to hurt like hell like my last pregnancy and sleep has been awful

    Rants / Raves:

Rants: barely being able to move and sleep.

Rave: hubby and I are getting a night out at a friends wedding on Saturday and I’m so excited.

    Questions:

    None

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little?:

When I was really little I wanted to be a donut maker in the army lol then I changed to a fashion designer then lawyer then teacher and now I have no idea what I want to be in my professional life

  • @varimama That sounds so hurtful and is part of what I worry about for the boys. I have never understood the generations pictures when kids are missing because then it's just an incomplete picture. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I'm not going to lie; I laughed a little at the irony of the ending.
@ohsmith My hips also hurt right now, and it is the worst for sleeping. Being a donut maker sounds like a fantastic job, and one I wish I had thought about as a kid lol.
  • @varimama awe I hate that for you.  If there was unfair treatment of my daughters I’d be pissed too. But my oldest is basically a carbon copy of all the men in that family 😂. She keeps all those men in line and they all adore her. My husband is my FIL’s only child. So my kids are his only grands. My husband has a cousin but she’s been estranged for a long time and his uncle passed a few years ago. So I essentially have the only grand and great grand kids in that family. My 10 year old is basically the girl version of all those men who are all the same 😂. My second daughter has severe special needs and disabilities. She’s 7 years old but physically and cognitively about 6 months old. So she just gets spoiled by everyone. The whole boy thing has always been so silly to me and my husband. As much as they are all super thrilled for the boy, I’m not too concerned with any unfair treatment. My daughter is a force of nature and has been bossing those men around since she was born 😂
