Y’all. I’m down to final few days at home. At my appointment on Monday, the NST showed that baby Evie was having some subtle variable decelerations in her heart rate. My doctor sent me to L&D for extended monitoring because he said that could be indicative that things are starting to take a turn and baby will need to be delivered sooner rather than later. She continued to have the subtle but infrequent decelerations overnight but the doctor at the hospital said it wasn’t overly concerning and sent me home the next day.
So, I get to my regular appointment on Thursday and my doctor is shocked they didn’t go ahead and keep me for delivery. He said he wasn’t sending me in to the hospital that day (Thursday was my birthday and he said he understood I’d like to spend it with my family), but said that he was going to be the doctor on duty at the hospital all next week and if I come in next week he’s going to go ahead and deliver me. 😬 He said now that we’re past the really scary stuff and have been through all the steroid shots and everything, he’d rather go ahead and deliver her before something bad happens rather than waiting for the bad thing to happen. So, I’m down to my last few days. I’ll be busy getting things ready over the weekend (even though she won’t be home for a good while — we’re looking at probably at least a month in the NICU). I’ll try my best to keep y’all updated.
