  • Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/24 27+3

    FTM/STM/STM+: TTM

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: boy

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: fennec fox

Upcoming appointments: sept 11th for glucose test and what was supposed to be my 28 week check

How are you feeling: can’t complain

Rants / Raves: School starts for my oldest this week! So ready for him to be going back! My 2nd starts in 2 weeks! This fall is going to be crazy though. My oldest is doing soccer and BJJ and my 2nd is doing gymnastics and BJJ. The BJJ is new for both of them so it’s a schedule adjustment!

Questions: how do you decide when to get checked out?

Yesterday I almost called bc while I felt some movement all day it seemed much less than usual. Like a kick or hiccup here and there vs like 5-10 minutes of getting my insides pummeled every few hours. Eventually in the afternoon right before I was seriously about to call he started kicking like crazy and since then it’s felt more normal. I think I’m just extra anxious they might miss something with not being seen until almost 30 weeks when I should have had a 28 week appt and a 30 week appt…

GTKY: How did you meet your SO: we were both co-ops at the same company the summer before both of our last year of college. He started before me so when I got there and was new he asked if I’d like to see where all of the other co-ops were sitting and took me on a tour around the office. I wasn’t really looking for a relationship so I turned him down for a date at first but he was nice and fun to hang out with so eventually I said yes and I guess the rest is history.

    Upcoming appointments:

Wednesday for my 30 week check up

    How are you feeling:

Sleeping is becoming more difficult since I can’t get comfortable for long with my hips and my allergies are killing me so I’m having even more trouble breathing right now lol

    Rants / Raves:

Rants: again my allergies! They are awful.

    Questions:

I’m going to ask my OB on Wednesday since I lost my safe medications list but do y’all know of what is safe to use for allergies?

GTKY: How did you meet your SO:

We started “talking” on Facebook but then we ended up dating other people. Our best friends ended up eventually dating and we went on a double date not knowing who we were being set up with until we got there. We met in person that night and been together ever since. Been together for 11 years, married for 5 years and this is our third baby ❤️

  • Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: November 26th; 27+1

    FTM/STM/STM+: 4TM

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Surprise

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: Fennec fox or a bunch of bananas

    Upcoming appointments: This week

How are you feeling: Tired, and my back and the back of my upper thighs have been attempting to kill me. I think I'm just overdoing it, but with 3 kids to chase and a house to manage, I don't really have an option to slow down. You can also add me to the "activities make me lightheaded club. Church was interesting yesterday morning.

Rants / Raves: Rant: I had some issues with the school last week, but I think we've got it resolved. I forgot to pay for lunch milk, and they refused to give DS1 any milk. He has lunch money and snack milk money on the books, so there was no reason he should've been without something to drink almost all week last week. He goes to a small private school, so I was completely annoyed. Raves: The boys are loving school (despite 1 of them not getting lunch milk - DS2 is lactose intolerant and takes his own milk).

Questions: When is everyone setting up their nurseries/baby spaces? With this baby going in the walk-in closet, I've picked out some smaller things (crib, etc.), but don't plan on ordering it for another few weeks.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO: We met through a mutual friend in college. I told the friend I thought DH was really cute, and he stopped inviting him to events because the friend liked me lol. We eventually re-met at a different place, and the rest is history.

  • @varimama That would have worried me too. Hopefully they'll let you schedule more than 1 appointment at a time moving forward.
@ohsmith I take Zyrtec and use Budesonide nasal spray for my allergies. I've used them both through all of my pregnancies.
  • @ohsmith this is my Drs list of safe meds for allergies: Sudafed, Chlor-Teimeton, Claritin, Zicam, Flonase, Airborne, Throat Lozenges, Zyrtec, Allegra, Benadryl (after 12 weeks)

@makingbacon activities are making me lightheaded too! It’s so hard to balance other kids and house while being pregnant! DS2 starts preschool 2 half days a week starting on the 12th so that’s when I plan to start getting the nursery set up and baby clothes washed. I’ll probably start prepping freezer meals middle of October.

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: winter squash

Upcoming appointments:I’m down to every other week appointments so I’ll have an appointment on Sep 5th

How are you feeling: feeling great for the most part. Other than basic aches and pains. Passed my glucose tolerance test last week 🙌🏻

Rants / Raves: Rants: I’m so tired of everyone discouraging me from using cloth diapers🙄 Raves: I’ve been nesting and getting my house deep cleaned so that makes me happy😊

Questions: I’m curious about everyone’s thoughts on the Hep B vaccine in the hospital as opposed to waiting.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO: we met in a local bar. I was sitting at the bar with my sister and he came up to talk to me and the rest is history.♥️

  • @sierrafuller1 Why is everyone bothered by cloth diapers? All of my babies were vaccinated in the hospital.
@varimama I need to start planning freezer meals. I’ve always got a handful of meals in the freezer for when I travel for work, but I tend to make things I don’t like that everyone else does like lol.
  • Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: 30 wks, 5 days

    FTM/STM/STM+: Baby #5

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Surprise

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: No idea but feels gigantic.

Upcoming appointments: 9/12 with my OB and 9/14 with my MFM

How are you feeling: Tired and sore. Plus my allergies will not stop.

Rants / Raves: Y'all. I want off this stupid 2023 rollercoaster. DH came down with what I thought was the flu on Saturday. He basically slept all weekend. I went upstairs to check on him yesterday afternoon, he told me to look at his leg and, from the knee to the ankle, it was bright red, hot and swollen. He ended up in the ER where they had to check for sepsis and blood clots. Turned out to be cellulitis. He had to stay last night and I just found out he'll be in there tonight as well as he's doing better but they're not comfortable sending him home with just oral antibiotics yet.
Of course my way of dealing with this is a dark sense of humor. So when the internal med doctor came in and had to ask the question "If your heart were to stop, do you want all possible life saving measures taken?", DH weakly says yes and I practically yell YES! The doc laughed and said every single wife that comes in here with her husband has the same reaction when I have to ask that. I told her well, let's be honest, his life insurance policy isn't yet where it needs to be for me to be ok with him making his exit. Thank goodness she got my sense of humor and laughed.

Anyway...DD1 made the school volleyball team AND got bumped up to symphonic band. Super excited for her! Her games start this week and DS1's football games start next week. Can't wait for their games. <3

    Questions: None

GTKY: How did you meet your SO: In college. We went to different community colleges in the Twin Cities and we were both really active in the student senates of those colleges. We met at a state-wide meeting in October and then didn't see each other again until the next April. I thought he had a thing for my friend when we met in October. Guess not because, after the next meeting in April, we were inseparable.

  • @makingbacon - This kiddo is going to be in our room since we've outgrown our house and have to find something bigger. We've started moving things around, cleaning out drawers making additional space. We have the bassinet but it won't be set up until the baby gets here I'm sure. I foresee spending a lot more time in our bedroom as that's where the rocking chair is and my pump and all that will be too.

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of:
    a bunch of bananas
    a fennic fox
    a camping lantern

    Upcoming appointments:
    8/31 - OB Check
9/8 - Growth Ultrasound, OB Check

    How are you feeling:
I'm feeling alright. Fighting allergies or a cold so I am exhausted all of the time. My belly is already huge so I don't know how much bigger I am going to get. *face palm*

    Rants / Raves:

    Questions:
Does anyone else wake up at nighttime with an extremely painful bump? I don't know how to explain it - crampy but not - I wake up, change positions, go potty, change positions again but my bump is SO uncomfortable.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO:
We initially met on Tinder almost 8 years ago. We met at a playground while my son was playing and hung out for a bit. Things didn't really work out, we each began dating someone else with contact on and off throughout the years until about 5 years ago. We went completely silent because he was in a committed relationship. I began working for a commercial ambulance in our area as an EMT in August 2019. Lo and behold, he ended up getting hired after I did and we reconnected. He was in the same relationship from a few years prior and was planning on proposing to her (and he did). I was bummed but happy for him. Their relationship ended up imploding because she was an addict, a cheater and a liar - she would disappear for days at a time leaving him to handle the girls  and work full time while she was not working or bringing in any income. He broke off the engagement and shortly after, their relationship. We started becoming closer because of the traumas he'd been through and how similar they were to mine. We managed a healthy trauma bond. We were committed to each other but didn't start dating until June. We celebrated 1 year of dating on 6/25/23.

  • @UnwritteN12 What kind of rocking chair do you have? I have an amazing one in DS3's room, but I'll need a small one in the closet so I have somewhere to do night nursing. DH told me to just nurse the baby in our bed, but logistics for holding the baby, and my concern about falling asleep while nursing, are making me not want to do that.
@medicmomma6115 I get random cramp/pains if I sleep in certain positions. I try to just stay on my left side, but that doesn't always happen. I have no idea what causes it, but it is super uncomfortable.

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: surprise!

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: I can’t remember but I think a head of lettuce

Upcoming appointments: just had my GTT and ultrasound. Next Ob appointment is mid sept.

How are you feeling: feeling good. Excited, nervous. Starting to feel a bit uncomfortable with the belly, like off balance and stuff!

Rants / Raves: Raves: food is my most favourite thing, so happy I bought a pregnancy pillow. Starting babyroom this week. Rants: time is going WAY too fast and I’m feeling unprepared

    Questions:

GTKY: How did you meet your SO: We met at a wedding! We both were not feeling it and had no plans to see each other again. We ended up going on our first date because our friends wouldn’t let it go and I’m so happy we did because he is the most incredible person and we make a great team!

  • @littleboo What kind of pregnancy pillow did you buy? I have a snoogle and really like it. I agree that time has flown during this pregnancy!
@Kiek Ugh, lightening crotch - that feeling that hits during 3rd trimester, and you instantly remember it lol. I love a good how did you meet story, and yours is amazing.
  • Bringing up the rear at the end of the week again, sorry!

@makingbacon omg the backs of my thighs hate me right now too. Specifically the right side. Driving is not fun when I'm stuck in stop'n'go traffic. As for setting up the nursery, I'm a nervous FTM so we've already started. I'm annoyed that I ordered a glider from Pottery Barn Kids like 3 weeks ago and earliest delivery is Nov 21-Dec 5. I'm due on the 11th. Hated all the other glider/recliners I looked at though so I secretly just hoped it would come early. Doubtful, but there's still time I guess.
@UnwritteN12 lol @ your sense of humour, but sorry DH ended up in the hospital in the first place. How's he doing now?
@kiek aw sounds like something out of a Hallmark movie! Adorable!

    Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/11, 29+5

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Girl!

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: I've lost track/don't believe the apps but basically her head is the size of a 5 pin bowling ball and the rest of her is shrimpy according to my growth scan. 96th percentile for her head, 31st for the rest of her lol.

Upcoming appointments: My OB is on vacation for a few weeks so I had two appts in the last week, and then nothing until 9/20.

How are you feeling: Overall, I feel great. I love love love being pregnant. Baby is kicking up a storm, I'm still fairly mobile, basically I just feel a lot better than I thought I would at this point. Feet are starting to swell a little, backs of my thighs are tight/uncomfortable, my left hip is tight... I booked a prenatal massage on my birthday in 2 weeks so I'm pumped for that.

Rants / Raves: Rant: My brother's car was stolen yesterday, has nothing to do with me but I'm directing all my rage towards that right now. Rave: I'm hopeful we might finally finish the closet in the nursery this weekend, which means we can then clean up and start setting stuff up soon!

Questions: Any tips for pregnancy insomnia? I'm freaking exhausted during the day but from the hours of 10pm-2am I'm WIDE awake. FML. I don't really want to take drugs for it (someone said Unisom is safe but I'd rather not if I can help it).

GTKY: How did you meet your SO: We've known each other for 12+ years through community stuff/mutual friends but he was in a relationship when we met, and he later married her. But I have been very vocal about mental health on my socials and after we both went through a rough time around 2016/17 he reached out on FB just to talk, and he admitted how unhappy he was in his marriage and the toll it was taking on him. I was clear I didn't want to be the reason he left his wife but I tried supporting him through it as a friend. He confessed he'd been in love with me since 2010 but was too scared to act on it. Once he left his wife things moved pretty quickly from there.

Interesting baby fact/Baby is the size of: a bunch of bananas I think

Upcoming appointments: Wednesday for glucose test, the following Monday for an ultrasound at mfm

How are you feeling: physically good! Starting to get uncomfortable with sleeping because I’m normally a back sleeper.

Rants / Raves: my classes started back up this week, so the first week was exhausting. Especially since my daughter doesn’t start school until next week, so it was a lot to juggle!!

    Questions: n/a

GTKY: How did you meet your SO: we met in high school. My high school was in a college town and he moved there for his senior year (my junior year) because his mom was going to the university for her phd. I thought we had study hall together, but turns out he was just skipping one of his classes to hang out with me 😂 we’ve been together ever since (14 years)!

@kiki047 I’m bringing up the rear too… didn’t have much time to post between classes starting and no childcare still!!

@makingbacon we just moved, so we’ve had a lot of other stuff to get organized first… but I’ve been putting all the baby things into the room that will be the nursery. I think we will be finished with the rest of the house by the end of September so then we can paint the nursery and set that up in October. I have an end of November due date, so I’m not feeling the rush to set it up just yet since we’ve got so many other things to set up too 😵‍💫
