SOS All day morning sickness

Really struggling with morning sickness. Almost everything grosses me out. Even struggling with water, but still managing a decent amount each day. The only I relief I get is once I finally manage to eat and that’s short lived or if I’m actively having a card ginger/peppermint candy.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried sea bands or something similar, that has helped me. I’ve been looking into getting the relief band but don’t know if I want to spend the money or not.  Along with homeopathy sepia. Making sure to eat every couple hours is another key for me.

Though sometimes nothing ends up helping and you just suffer through it. It tends to vary on the day for me

  • I’ve been struggling with this too. Feeling nauseous all the time, and I don’t really have the appetite to eat anything. I’ve been taking half of a Unisom tablet every night and it helps me so much! I still feel nauseous and have a low appetite, but it has stopped me from vomiting.
  • Reach out to your doctor and ask to be assessed for hyperemesis gravardium. It’s an extreme version of morning sickness which requires treatment. I take four different medications and with my last pregnancy still needed vitamin and fluid infusions because I couldn’t keep enough down to keep us safe.
There are some very safe treatment options to make you more comfortable and keep both you and baby safe!

  • I’m nauseous 24/7 but not nearly as bad as with my other pregnancies. I’m trying to find the safest solution without having to take any type of Morning Sickness medication. Maybe I’ll try the half of a Unisom Tablet. (Or less than half) I wish you all a healthy happy pregnancy.
  • i have been sucking on the preggo pop candies a lot and they do help to ease it when i'm actually eating them. I am also nauseous all the time. Higher protein seems to help too some.
  • I’ll definitely give the preggo pops a try. & looking into protein drinks (Boost or Ensure)
    Thanks a bunch.
  • I got worse at week 8 too! I feel a little better now but it still hits me in waves.

    Things that have helped:
    ginger tea
    dry Saltines or club crackers
not letting myself get too hungry or too full (small meals more often, always with a little bit of protein)
Diclegis (rx vitamin b6 and unisom), which is safe and tested in pregnancy, it helps a lot!
Lemon water and seltzer (the bubbles seem to help and I prefer sour flavors over sweet)
I liked the preggo pop drops with my first when I had a long commute and snacking in the car wasn’t possible

Looking forward to the second trimester!

<3 totally agree about Diclegis. It hasn’t erased the awful nausea symptoms but it has made it much easier to work and function normally.
  • My OB recommended 100mg of B6 and 1/2 a Unisom tablet before bed. It wears off by the end of the day a lot of the time, but most of the day I'm fine, and if you know about when it wears off, you can take another 50mg of B6 like an hour or so before to help you finish the day.

Also, lukewarm epsom salt baths. This is usually how I get the nausea to quell enough to take all my vitamins before bed. Normally I like my bathwater practically scalding, but lately heat in any form makes me want to hurl (hot baths aren't good for baby anyway, so it's fine). But a lukewarm, almost cool bath loaded with Epsom salts and maybe some aromatherapy bubble bath just makes me feel better almost instantly. Just make sure you moisturize afterward or add some oil to your bath, cause the salts can really dry out your skin and make it itchy.
