Gestational diabetes test @ 10 weeks

My doctor had me complete the 1 hour glucose test at 10 weeks because I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my daughter. Although I haven’t received a call from my doctor yet, I saw the results online and I technically failed the test by one point. Anyone else have this? Did you have to do 3 hr test so early, or just monitor sugar early?

  • I don’t think mine was that close with my eldest, but I did have to do the 3 hr after barely failing the 1hr. With a history of GD I’d expect them to want to retest. You might also have the option of skipping the 3hr and just beginning monitoring if that’s what you choose.

I was thinking monitoring until the second test would probably be my best option. MS has been rough and a 3 hour test sounds impossible at this point! 🤪
  • The next time they do the test have them do the one hour and the three hour at the same time. That way you don’t have to drink the drink again if you fail by a close margin. Yes they can do that 😂

  • Interesting!! I have never heard if that! I’ll definitely ask!
