March Symptoms/Questions Thread

Re: March Symptoms/Questions Thread

  • Anyone else getting night sweats? I drink a ton of water at night to stave off leg cramps but always wake up covered in sweat. Last night I had night sweats and leg cramps because I had a huge, salty dinner with coworkers last night (no regrets :yum: )
  • Loading the player...
  • Ughhhh all the nosebleeds and I’m SO over it!!
  • My dreams were getting pretty extreme and morbidly graphic.  My doctor suggested trying melatonin so I could get better sleep and three days in I haven't had any terrible nightmares.

@hestia-is-wearie last month I had night sweats several times but I like being under covers so I did blankets and a huge fan lol.
  • Oh man, I’ve had night sweats, nosebleeds, and crazy dreams!! We don’t have central heating here so I normally sleep in leggings and a long sleeved shirt. I’ve started sleeping in light cotton pants and a short sleeved shirt. DH thinks I’m crazy, and I still wake up sweating!
  • No night sweats here.. but the leg cramps... Ugh so painful.
  • I woke up with a Charlie horse once, which was rather unpleasant, but otherwise have avoided leg cramps. For me it’s restless legs/hips keeping me up and my hips being SO sore in the morning it drives me out of bed.
  • @courtney701 YES to the hips. Omg, so painful every morning. I have to, like, limp to the bathroom from my bed.
  • Seconding hip pain in the AM, it wakes me up at night, woof. Also the pelvic pressure and pain when walking (and only at work, not when walking around at home, outside or on treadmill, makes no sense, and I wear sneakers to work now haha). Someone posted about the Neo Tech pregnancy belt @BourbonBiscuits
maybe? I had to go back in a thread to find it. I got it yesterday but haven't used it yet. I'm wearing one that isn't as supportive so OB recommended one with extra straps!
  • TTM+ moms what is your car/carseat set up?

We'll have to do 3-across in a 2019 Honda Pilot which means new carseats for our oldest 2. I think we may go with the Clek Fllo, but am confused by what can actually be 3 across in our car. I've heard complaints about kids being uncomfortable in Diono's so I know we won't go with those.
  • I haven’t had leg cramps in a few weeks but I was getting them too. They are rough!

The low back pain is still going on for me, now with the added spice of groin pain. I also feel like I’m hobbling everywhere! My doctor says the groin pain is from the weight of baby’s shoulders 😅 I’m still processing that she is currently in that position.
  • I’ve had mild low back and hip pain for many weeks now, but this week some pretty rough upper back and neck pain started! Not enjoying the new addition to the symptoms list.
  • AdrienneAudrey in my first pregnant ohh my god I had the craziest dreams....like basically the Murdaugh Murder vibes. This pregnancy since I do take Melatonin a lot I don't get hardly any! You could try it out!

    Have SO MANY leg cramps!
  • 👋 I'm in the leg cramp camp! And also the feeling -too-full after eating small meals, general discomfort when sitting, and still waking up in wee hour morning camps.
  • @gingermama46 my youngest is 6 and oldest is 8 and only have 1 in a booster now 😬.  But if you have a buy buy baby near you, they use to let you take a car seat and test it in your car out front. But with todays crime and Covid changes (at least in California) not sure if they allow that anymore. Not a lot of help but see if that may be an option to test out 🤷🏼‍♀️. We’ve only had Graco4ever car seats and I know those suckers are wide!
  • @gingermama46 we just upgraded to an expedition since this will be our 4th (holy expensive) but when we had 3 we upgraded to an explorer with captain seats so two in the back and one in a captain seat. It’s always really hard to configure! We were able to fit 3 Graco car seats in a row in my husbands f150.
  • I got the worst heartburn last night. Seriously painful, maybe the worst I've ever experienced! I hadn't really had it before that, just very mild. Anyone have any remedies or things they do to avoid it? I didn't eat anything different than usual but it did start right after dinner.
  • @seahawkinspain my doula friend swears by papaya enzyme, but I haven’t tried it myself yet. For me it’s just been tums. My heartburn also has been seemingly completely random. Things that usually trigger it don’t always, and things that never did before now do. Sometimes it’s just eating a bit too much at once!
  • @jeep4x4mom oohh I didn't know that. There is one that is 40ish minutes away, I will have to call! Yes, we have the 4ever ones too and they are huge!
@maelove it is! there are just so many options but not a straight yes you can fit A,B and C here. I even joined a carseat mom's and then a 2019 honda pilot group on FB and nothing haha. Pilots don't have captain seats (at least not within our budget when we bought last April) and the mini van options didn't have AWD which I need to get to work. My husband has an F150 too and we'll be fine in his truck but need to configure my car!

    Thank you both!
  • Thanks @courtney701! I have never heard of papaya enzyme. I will look into it!
  • The night sweats are INSANE. My entire family is shivering (my husband slept in a sweatshirt, sweatpants, WINTER HAT and socks under our big comforter) and I was drenched under just the sheet. HELP.

@gingermama46 we got a 3rd row SUV when our third came (because our regular SUV got totaled the night he was born ... another story for another day) but we were able to squeeze all 3 across with the slim Graco seats for the two big kids.

No idea how we're going to configure 4 carseats when this chick arrives. Probably big kids in the third row (they can buckle their own seatbelt/chest clip) and littles in the captains chairs? Who tf knows

Does anyone get slightly nauseous during Braxton Hicks contractions? I'm a ftm so I don't know what to expect. I feel my belly tighten and then I'm just uncomfortable and a little bit nauseous. I know labor contractions are different so I'm hoping this isn't a sign that I'll be nauseous during labor!
  • Just had my ob appointment and baby is sitting breech right now... Guess that explains why their jabbing me lately has been less cute and more painful in the pelvic region lately... Please stop kicking me in the cervix child 😬

@seahawkinspain sorry, can't say that I've had the nausea with Braxton Hicks, but I do find I get more/ worse ones when I don't drink enough...
  • @seahawkinspain I do get nauseous with BH sometimes. I wasn't nauseous during labor, but I do always puke once I get to a certain dilation. Which is totally normal! And it's (mercifully) like morning sickness puke, where once you get it out, you feel way better.
  • @BourbonBiscuits thank you! That’s good to know. My vomiting during the first trimester was pretty bad but I always felt better after!
  • @seahawkinspain FTM here too. Yeah, I get a slight feeling of nausea with Braxton Hicks. I think that's the worst part of them for me. Overall it's uncomfortable but when my stomach feels unsettled like that, I don't enjoy it!
