We are so lucky; that all came from the baby shower. Last night my husband was looking around at everything and couldn't believe how much love and support we have. We didn't have a big shower so we were surprised at how much we ended up with. It was really overwhelming and we are so grateful for the people in our lives.

Today’s doctor’s visit came with some humorous advice on triggering labor. The doctor, knowing that I’m probably not moving forward that quickly, said “Make plans you can’t get out of!” He suggested buying concert tickets that you can’t refund, lol 😂

Last pregnancy I woke up at 4am in labor with contractions 6ish minutes apart, so I labored while I slept and have no idea what early contractions feel like. Anyone have any ideas as to what it may actually feel like early on? Are they similar just not as frequent?

@amccurls My first labor was contractions that felt the same as the end just further apart and came at varying intervals.

This time, I think I am feeling early labor contractions but it's really just cramping in the lower part of the uterus and back pain. I'm also wondering if I'm just feeling pain with the cervix opening a bit.

@amccurls it's been a while for me but I think we'll just know. 🤷‍♀️ With my first, it felt like a tummy ache but with the others, there was a definite tightening but my (irregular) contractions would sometimes start days before I really started labor after the firstborn. I think that's more common with 2nd time or + moms.

I’ve been having cramps and tightening for weeks. These feel a little different so I wasn’t sure. I guess we’ll see as the night goes on. Either way, baby girl will be on her way tomorrow night!

@amccurls I feel like you do- first round, I was cleaning house while trying to kill time as my contractions worsened. Second baby did the kick flip in my uterus, so I was in immediate labor, no build up at all. This time, I have no clue what to expect!! I keep thinking I might be feeling some early labor contractions, but not sure!

Y’all I feel like such an idiot. These intense cramps I’ve been getting every so often have been contractions and I had no idea 🤦🏻‍♀️ I swear with my first all the contractions were felt across my belly, but this time is like intense period cramps. So I’ve been having contractions for days. Anyway, I guess baby girl will be here today 🥰

I had a membrane sweep this morning and I can report that it was mildly uncomfortable but totally fine in case anyone else has one lined up. Not expecting much movement from baby for a few days yet (mother's intuition).

@amcurls it's ok. I had to go to labor and delivery yesterday because my blood pressure was higher than normal. They also did a non stress test and when the nurse came back she said that I had a few contractions during it. It thought it was gas. lol So I guess I've been having some braxton hicks contractions here and there for a little while now. Good luck with everything today! Hope it all goes smoothly.

Oh my goodness...I am so cranky... excessively. People are really getting on my nerves with their texts and noises and lack of sensitivity for people of ready to give birth pregnancy.

@amccurls Are those period-like contractions something they would pick up on in an NST? I know they just mainly monitor the upper abdomen. If I’ve been having contractions, mine have also felt low, but I can’t tell what I’m feeling, lol.

Rant: today is my due date and just had my appointment, they want to do the NST and ultrasound Monday and induce Thursday at 41 weeks.. for some reason, I was thinking they would do the NST right away and schedule induction for Monday. The idea of another week of being pregnant is killing me 😫 I already started my leave this week and I’ve been soooo bored just waiting for baby to come.. I’ve done 3 1000 pc puzzles in a week.. lol. Im only 1 cm dilated, they did a membrane sweep today, but I had one last week too and it didn’t do anything so I don’t have high hopes.. walking hasn’t helped, sex hasn’t helped! I feel so powerless and like I’m going to be pregnant forever lol. I know it’s “only a week” but at this stage, a day feels like forever, let alone a week. Gah rant over, please come soon baby girl 🤞🏻🤦🏻‍♀️🤰🏻

@bri-graham2 Something tells me I’m going to be right there with you on Monday when I head to my next checkup/NST appointment. Baby boy looks great on his NSTs, but nothing else has happened yet. Feeling crampy so to speak, but I don’t think I’m having any contractions, pretty sure I’m not dilated (I never am), no fluid level changes. It’s gonna be a long week!!

@bri-graham2 Definitely understandable to feel so frustrated. Evidenced Based Birth goes over a host of induction techniques that may interest you to see what your non pharmacological and conventional medicine options are to help with encouraging labor and delivery. You are almost there and probably closer to the delivery than you realize. Enjoy the calm before the storm! ❤️

@cpk3535 I think they can see the Braxton Hicks contractions too when doing the NST. Not 100% sure about that though. Honestly, I’m usually more interested in the fetal heart rate to make sure baby is ok.

I’m going to try this yoga/exercise routine (https://youtu.be/LQVt7uomKos) that’s supposed to encourage your labor, probably on Sunday evening! I’m due on Tuesday and I really want to see this baby come out voluntarily!! I wouldn’t believe it worked aside from all of the positive reviews. Fingers crossed 🤞

Had a very vivid dream last night that my water broke. My dad and husband both think she's going to be a super bowl baby lol. My Dr called yesterday and she doesn't want me to go past the 20th (due date is the 24th) so we are going to schedule induction that day if she doesn't come sooner.

Also, my Dr said on Wednesday that I lost most of my mucus plug (I had no clue) but I noticed this morning that I lost some more. I have been told that it doesn't really mean anything and others have said that once you lose it completely you will give birth in a few days.

So question for the 2nd+ mommas and the mommas that just had theirs: if you know when you lost it, how soon after did you give birth? Just curious.

@kamays54 I thought I remember reading that you can keep losing parts of it and it even regenerates but that's probably if it's earlier on. When mine was bloody, that was always the start of labor for me.

@seeds_of_joy when I was at the hospital Wednesday for some testing the nurse did say that it can grow back so that was part of the reason I thought it really didn't mean anything. There wasn't any blood this morning so I think I'm good. Also there really wasn't a lot this morning and I never noticed any before so I have no clue how much is left. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@kamays54 So envious of you. I’m due in 3 days and I don’t think I’ve lost any of the mucus plug. Maybe I’ll ask on Monday for the doc to check- perhaps I didn’t notice like you? I’ll be honest, though, with this being baby #3, for first baby, I don’t think I saw bloody show until my contractions were pretty strong. Baby #2 only broke water because she did a dramatic flip. I wasn’t even 1cm dilated that same morning at the doctors visit! This time, I have no clue what to expect. I’d rather this guy comes out like his older sister, not like the last time, that’s for sure. Trying to look for labor clues is maddening!!! Some of us just get nothing and it goes from 0 to 60 in five seconds. 🤷‍♀️

@kamays54 i haven’t given birth yet, but I lost my mucus plug on Wednesday & haven’t gone into labour yet. I just experienced the bloody show so maybe a sign we are starting shortly, but am having no other symptoms as of yet. I have read for first time moms (which I am) it can take a few days after the bloody show to start.

Can confirm that baby is wide awake at 3am like I was all 3rd trimester 🫠

@kamays54 I never noticed losing it with my first. I didn’t fully lose mine until during active labor with this one.

@cpk3535 I know what you mean. I don't know if you saw my Braxton Hicks post but I feel like I don't know what is happening most of the time. Then someone will say something and I'm like oh that's what it was. Lol.

I went on a walk for the first time in several months. We live in a cold state but it was nice out and most of the ice melted. It felt soooo weird to be out walking this pregnant.
