I have an appointment next Friday I’m with the OB. I’m kind of excited because it’s the one that delivered my middle daughter and she is wonderful! Haven’t seen her since then. Typically I would see one of the midwives at my practice but since I’m “AMA” I’m required to have an appointment with one of the OBs every other appointment. This is going to be fun!
@emeraldcity603 that is weird! I was first summoned this past summer (at the same time as my neighbor lol) but I believe I had something going on so I did a one time postponement and picked mid February thinking that would be a better time but I have a bunch of things scheduled that week😅
@wendy838 I have my genetic testing the 21st our town lost an ultrasound clinic so I am during the last week possible for the testing so I am antsy for that. And then have to wait till Anatomy scan which my luck will definitely be closer to 20weeks if not later. But we might do a private scan at one of the 3d clinics.
@estadt Do you know if you need a requisition to do a private scan? Sorry you have to wait so long! It feels like no matter how proactive you are, it takes forever to get any appointment and it's so long in between each visit ugh.
@wendy838 you don’t! We went to a place called UC Baby (national chain, they might have in your area) at 13 weeks with my last kiddo. I think it was like $99–we just did a 2D scan. They have all kinds of packages to choose from.
My next appt is for feb 22, like 5 weeks from my last appt.
FTM here and my dr just told me to come back, I don’t know what I’m going to be checked/tested for? I would love to have another sonogram but the ultrasound tech only comes on Mondays for an hour (my appt is a Wed) and this dr didn’t tell me what this appt is for. I didn’t think to ask last time either and I guess I assumed that she would explain more but didn’t.
I also took the NIPT test and I told the dr that I didn’t want to know the sex of the baby and she said ok and then didn’t relay the message back to the nurse and the nurse was the one filling out the blood work NIPT document and was all confused and i made her go back and confirm with the dr. I’m not getting a good experience from this obgyn office, which is fine because I’m switching insurances and I’ll be closer to home instead of in the hood where a lot of crime happens.
I received my NIPT results back and everything checked out great. I have my next appt on the 13th with my regular OB. I'll be 15/16 weeks. My anatomy scan is next month (March 9th).
I had an appointment scheduled for end of February around my 15/16 week mark but with my cramping/pelvic pain and my BV I asked for an ultrasound this week to check on baby, so I see the OB this Thursday 02/09, nervous, praying for the best.
Had my appointment today and baby was VERY active! Kept hearing kicks on the Doppler and was moving around so much it was hard to hear the heartbeat for longer than a split few seconds. It took a while but we got baby to stay still long enough and heart rate is 157! The OB was pressing hard for so long though that I’m feeling so sore and crampy so have been just laying down since coming home.
The OB also made it so clear I’m making the right choice in switching to a midwife. I’ve had a good OB from this practice but she’s booked and this one has just been rude and tries scare tactics to get me to do what she wants and it’s everything to me to be supported in my personal decisions for my pregnancy and to be trusted that I can make my own decisions and not looked down on.
Appointment went well baby still has a heart beat and he waved at us, I started crying happy tears immediately 🙏🏻🤍 sadly I have a bladder infection but at least that’s an answer to my cramping.
Had my appointment this morning. Baby was hard to find on the doppler because they were wiggly and moving around a lot today. For a moment I was freaking out. But she was able to get baby’s heartbeat for a second, around 160. She said baby was hiding high and she was not expecting it. She found baby just below my belly button. All my labs look good, so that made me feel better. No complaints. So far I’m healthy and so it this baby! She did recommend I consider taking a baby aspirin daily to hopefully reduce risk and/or delay the gestational hypertension this time. I’ve got fingers crossed for staying healthy, this time! Third time is a charm right?!
Had my first midwife appointment this afternoon and it was so nice! I actually felt heard even though it was just orientation. I did bring up my concerns with my morning sickness and she said from the sounds it could be HG but that we could discuss that more at my first official appointment. Birth centers in our state have very strict rules to go by so she said she really couldn’t discuss more until I had an official appt. I am very excited to go this direction though!
I finally had my first OB appointment this week! Baby had a great HR on the doppler - 150’s, and I had my blood drawn for Harmony and Panorama along with all of the other blood work they wanted to do. I was supposed to have an ultrasound that day but the tech called in sick so that is now 2 weeks away. I’m sad I didn’t get to see baby but very happy that the doppler picked up a HR. This is a new doc for me; my last GYN left the practice 2 weeks ago and went to a place I have zero interest in following her to, which has been hard for me because I loved her. But the new OB agreed to let me do a TOL and she was very nice. Overall it went well and I’m looking forward to seeing baby in a few weeks!
