@ccmrc143 is your son rear-facing still or front-facing? I used to strap up a bag with a few things to do (stickers, crayons, a WaterWow) to the seat in front of her when she was RF, but when we turned her FF I got this cupholder tray from Amazon (it's the 2Cups brand). Technically it's supposed to attach to the higher circle but that was WAY too high so we do it this way. She has a couple little stuffies on clips that I can stick to the upper circle (or that's where I'll put her sunglasses), and then in the big cup part I have stickers and some crayons. She has a little notebook that she can fill with stickers or color on, or if she gets really cranky I keep a WaterWow up front with me to hand back to her. Works like a CHARM!
Not sure where else to put this but I’m so bloated, my clothes are already tight. Any other plus sized moms here? Where are you shopping for maternity clothes?
Solo parenting with husband out of town = snuggling through some pre-dinner Bluey bc I'm tired and don't want to play Barbies right now. That hour before dinner is just my brutally tired lull time but snuggling with a cheerful little cuddlebug is totally my happy place. So if watching TV gets me that, well, screen time it is.
@gingermama29 I got a new pair of maternity jeans for Christmas from Amazon (full disclosure, my daughter is 3 and I never stopped wearing them...) but generally I'm a Target gal for most staples and Motherhood Maternity for jeans. I also just rock my husband's t-shirts at home when mine get too tight. BUT I also stay home with my daughter, and worked in a super casual office last time around where t-shirts were ok, so actual work clothes for adults totally escape me.
Those with kids - how do you sort toys? I should be grateful that so many people love my daughter and give her toys but OH MY GOD it looks like we live in a preschool. I feel a little bad too because my daughter doesn't really *play* all that much -- she does a little but most often she would rather be my little shadow and help me in the kitchen or with laundry or chores. So figuring out "what does she play with most" is sort of a moving target. Anyone have a good system to audit or organize? (Or just want to FaceTime and tell me how to do this? I'm SO SUPREMELY TERRIBLE at home design/decoration/organization.)
@ki1244 I don’t have a great system and I’m not perfect but one tip is to differentiate between the playroom and toy storage. She only needs a small fraction of her toys out at once, so if you store the others away you can rotate them in and out every few weeks. This reduces the clutter and makes old toys feel new to the kids!
I got my doppler out tonight because I bought some gel for it. I wasn’t expecting to find the baby’s HB because I’m only 7+6. Well, I was patient and I just took my time and went slow and believe it or not I found it. I’m a little shocked. I found my toddlers at 8 weeks when I was pregnant with him but the next pregnancy I wasn’t able to find it until 10 weeks. Anyway, it was super exciting.
Y'ALL THERE IS A DEALCOHOLIZED WINE THATS ACTUALLY WORTH DRINKING. My daughter and I had a French night last night where I made us a little French living room picnic (baguette ham sandwich with cornichons, grapes, green salad, cheese plate, and macarons) and we watched Ratatouille. I picked up a bottle of my favorite French wine to have an ounce at a time for the next couple months, but saw a dealcoholized rosé on an end cap and got curious. I'm a little bit snobby with wine sometimes so normally alcohol free wine is HORRIBLE to me, but for some reason I wanted to try this one. You guys, it tastes like wine! Maybe a little more of a minerally wine, but I don't mind that, and it's a really light mouthfeel but definitely not unpleasant. And I could have a whole glass! Color me cheerful. it's this one.
