January Symptoms

Re: January Symptoms

  • @novelblessings YES to the carsickness!! So inconvenient. Luckily it’s just really uncomfortable & I haven’t had to pull over & stop driving yet but I drive A LOT so we’ll see how this goes.

Had a scare the other day: my partner & I tried having sex & I was immediately overcome by the worst cramping of my life! I freaked out & cried & had to talk myself off my own fear ledge. There was no bleeding & I’m back to my 24 hour “morning” sickness, but wondering if this has happened to anyone?

  • My husband’s coffee smells so bad. It has filled the house now and it’s just nasty. I’m already feeling overall nasty and I have only been up for an hour. Im suppose to attend a planning meeting for my mom group and we are ordering pizza. I’m not sure I can stomach pizza.
  • @maineblueberry83023 same, been driving all over, all week. I’ve had to keep a sparkling water with me at all times 😂

  • I keep oscillating from constipation to diarrhea. Like within the same day even. I ordered some liquid magnesium to help with the constipation because it was getting pretty bad earlier this week but now I’m scared to take it. Also, everyone smells weird to me. My baby smells off and I was rocking my toddler and smelled the same weird smell. I’m sure it’s just my weird pregnancy nose but either way, I’ll be giving everyone a bath today.
  • @emeraldcity603 +1 on the confused bowels.

My mouth and skin are as dry as the Gobi Desert. It doesn’t matter how much water I drink or how much lip balm I use. I’m parched. Winter I’m usually pretty dry anyway, but this is next level.
  •  @pickle-chips me too! I’m as crusty as a piece of toast, especially my lips! No matter what I do, I’m trying to stay more hydrated but hoping this will pass.
  • @lmn823 same! I’ve been doing really well to drink water, but then I also have to pee every 5 minutes. It’s lose lose all around 😂
  • @pickle-chips yes! Same!! Actually I literally just used that exact phrasing (Gobi Desert) a little while ago when I was asking MH for a bottle of water. 😂
  • @pickle-chips omg I thought I was the only one dealing with a desert mouth. It doesn't matter how much I drink, I can't quench the thirst lol
  • @pickle-chips SAME I FEEL LIKE A DAMN IGUANA
  • edited January 2023
been having mild cramps for 3 days & minimal spotting at 7w3d. Anyone else have this? Trying to be cool about it.

Also, 100% on the dryness! I’m drinking a minimum of 64oz of water a day & I feel like my lips are going to just crumble!
  • @pickle-chips glad to see there are many of us feeling very dry. I’ve been drinking a ton of liquids but my lips are drying me nuts.

@emeraldcity603 everything smells weird to me also. My husband came home yesterday and was a foot or more away and I asked when the last time he brushed his teeth…he said he had too much garlic in his lunch. I can still smell him walk in a room today. Also doing the dishes or taking the trash out is making me gag. Not my job now! 😂

  • So so nauseous. Been wearing my sea bands for three weeks. Ugh. I am 10 weeks
  • @maineblueberry83023 I had some spotting and cramping last weekend. I drank a ton of water and laid on the couch for 3 days.
  • I’m feeling pretty sick today. I had a friend over this morning and they just left. I’m getting my littles down for a nap and my older kids are going to the basement to play while I do nothing but lay on the couch resting for the next few hours.
  • My nausea keeps getting worse. I’m 8 weeks tomorrow, based on my count. My first dr appt is Tuesday early in the morning. I can hardly eat and I’ve been throwing up at least twice a day for the last 3-4 days. I never experienced this with my first two pregnancies. Someone please tell me this will get better.
  • Has anyone had a scratchy throat as a pregnancy symptom? Hopefully I’m not coming down with something but counting it as a pregnancy symptom seems like a stretch and wishful thinking
  • What are some remedies for nausea? I've thrown up 4 times this morning already 🥴 I can't be like this in 2 days because I'm away for a corporate event.
  • @wendy838 I have noticed that if I drink a body armor I can keep more down. Might still be a bit nauseous but that’s better than throwing up all day
  • @wendy838 sucking on sour Candy, drinking a Vanilla Dry (this is personal to me not sure about others), seabands, eating protein if you can stomach can help. If it’s really bad you could use the B6 and unisom combination. I have never been able to take that because I’m always nursing another baby in early pregnancy. I would personally stay away from Zofran. there is some debate on whether it causes defects. I had an OB tell me not to take it because we have a heart defect that runs in our family and cleft palate runs in my family. Some OBs won’t prescribe until after week 10 because of this.
  • @wendy838 I noticed that standing up or walking around helps my nausea. I eat saltines and take baby sips of water. Also, carbonated drinks have helped my nausea and indigestion.
  • @wendy838 my golden nectar has been ginger beer, like a good spicy one. I can’t even stomach my morning smoothies or eat much substance at all but the ginger beer is so helpful for me!
  • @tumbleweed-1 I haven’t ever noticed a scratchy throat as a symptom but some women do get congestion and if you happen to have post nasal drainage it could cause a scratchy throat.
  • @emeraldcity603 I don’t know why I didn’t think of that, I have had some congestion. My throat is still irritated today, but not as bad. And no other signs of illness, so it’s a mystery. We have plans to go on a mountain vacation with IL family next weekend, so fingers crossed I’m not sick or we’ll miss out.
  • Congestion has been a pain!! I am so congested especially at night time, I keep turning in bed so the other nostril can open up! During the day I’m fine but not at night when I’m laying down. I’ve tried elevating too and humidifiers but nothing is helping.
  • @tumbleweed-1 no scratchy throat but more congestion than usual. That or allergies 🤷🏻‍♀️

@wendy383 I’ve been sipping water, sparkling water, proteins helps some so I’ve had protein drinks or shakes, if I can’t imagine eating or drinking something I have some hard candy.

I am having a bad nausea day. I’ve been on the couch all day. I told hubby I’m not sure what organ is growing today but I’m over it. I hope I feel somewhat decent tomorrow for my first appointment.

  • My nausea keeps fluctuating. One day I’m so sick and the next I’m fine. It’s annoying. Super stressful at first and now I’m just accepting that it’s apparently the pattern for this pregnancy.
  • @emeraldcity603 mine is kind of like that. I can function one day but the next I cannot. Or like half the day I’m feeling awful and the rest I can eat and feel somewhat normal. I never know what I’m going to get.

  • @novelblessings @emeraldcity603 same!! I was so freaked out at first & now I recognize that my extreme, all day nausea just takes a break some days! Today, I am gagging down trail mix at work, trying to put some type of protein in my belly. My coworkers are going to catch on soon lol
  • @maineblueberry83023 I am having some food aversions. Nothing too severe but yesterday evening my stomach was growling because I wasn’t able to eat a big enough dinner.
  • Definitely also have one major food aversion to Brussels sprouts. Otherwise the last two days I haven’t felt nauseous so I’m now part of the “are my symptoms gone and is the baby dead?” Club. I have MFM on Friday so if I don’t start to feel bad again by then at least I already have an appointment. Also now that I’m 10 weeks symptoms may naturally start subsiding right?
  • @maineblueberry83023 @emeraldcity603 All weekend I couldn’t really eat much. Right now everything has a strong smell or doesn’t sound good. I also feel people will catch on if I keep
working at home or rearranging my schedule. I have to work some this evening and I just can’t imagine going in at the moment when I can’t even eat breakfast. ☹️

  • I I have reached the complete and utter exhaustion can’t keep your eyes open stage. Woke up at 7, already couldn’t stay awake by 9.
  • @justyouraveragemama I’m so ready for an end to the exhaustion. I basically have zero free time because as soon as I put my kid down for the night, I can hardly stay awake too. Then we are awake again for another day
  • @tumbleweed-1 that pretty sums up like here too.
  • @tumbleweed-1 yes! There were so many days I would put my daughter down and then just crawl into bed and go to sleep for the night. I actually have come out of the exhaustion a lot in the past two weeks. I keep waiting for it to pop back up again though.
  • @tumbleweed-1 my daily habit has been to lay down next to my daughter's bed at naptime, holding her hand per her request, and then fall asleep for a half hour and then wake up and creep out and go in with my day. It's weirdly comfortable and recharging. But today she informed me after a couple minutes "I'm done having you in here now, I just want to sleep and you go away." Um what? But...that's my nap too kid. Guess I'll be dragging come 7:30...
  • Anyone else working 12 hour shifts? I work at an ER vet & work 3 12s & my nausea/ exhaustion are absolutely kicking my ass. Came home & cried like, well, a baby last night to my partner while he made me toast (which is one of 3 things I can currently put down along with ramen & Mac & cheese) I’m almost at the 8 week mark (7w6d) & hoping relief comes in the next few weeks because this just feels unsustainable! Anyone else have a similar schedule? Please commiserate or share your success! 💜
  • @maineblueberry83023 I don’t have that kind of work schedule, but I hope it’ll get easier for you. Can you bring smoothies or other quick/easy to eat foods for snacks during your shift? Drinking a smoothie with yogurt or peanut butter to get some protein on my morning break at work helps me make it to lunch time.
