Introductions (2 iui, 4 ivf)

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site. I actually feel depressed because today I found out that on our last IVF cycle will probably not have any blastocysts. We had 4 embryos, but it is now day 3 and the embryologist told us that they are not progressing as they should.

A little background, we are TTC for 6 years now, we already had 2 failed iui and 3 failed ivf cycles. In the first cycle we had one embryo transfer which didn't implant and in the second one we had two embryos transferred, but no implantation. The third cycle, we had no blastocysts, so no transfer.

This month is our fourth cycle. We have done every possible test (at least I think). Two days ago, I did a hysteroscopy and they found a uterine septum which they told me I have to remove. Did anyone else have this? Did it help after it was removed?

I am extremely sad and I don't know how long I can continue. I just feel like giving up.

  • Hello, so sorry at what you have been through.  I've had 2 failed artificial inseminations before we had a successful 1st cycle of IVF.  We had both sperm and egg donation in a clinic we found overseas.  I cannot comment on your uterine septum.  That's the first time I heard of it.  I guess you will have to pass that hurdle before continuing with your cycle.  Try not to worry and just keep going.  Lots of love to you!

  • I'm sorry you're going through this. Removing a uterine septum has helped some women achieve pregnancy, but every case is different. Stay strong and consider discussing all options with your doctor. Support groups or counseling might also provide emotional help during this difficult time.
