Re: Product Spotlight: Toys

  • We decided to get the Lovevery subscription box and it is 1000000% worth it! Even my husband who hates toys, wants nothing to do with them, thinks they're a waste of money, agrees the box is worth it. They're great quality and my daughter lovesost of them. There are definitely some she couldn't care less for, but for the most part, she love them. She's 2.5 and we're still getting it.

I love that they send all the toys you need for 2/3 months, and it includes a book on how to introduce them, and how to play with them. Some toys build on other boxes. And they have a great resale value so you can get a decent $$ back if you decide to sell them once you're done with them.

    - walker with the music thing on the front that's removable.
    - play mat for tummy time was used so much. I bought a cheap used $10 one for my daughter but I decided to splurge and get the lovevery one second hand this time.
  • Loading the player...
  • We got a lot of mileage out of the activity gym/mat things. Also the Vtech walker/activity thingy is useful and they are available secondhand all the time.

I used generic interlocking rings to attach teethers and rattles to the stroller and car seat so they didn’t get lost. My kids also liked the crinkly fabric books a lot but they are basically one kid and done items from all the drool.

They also loved plastic and wooden utensils and Tupperware…free and safe!

Activity/ gym mat for sure. And a little baby mirror to put on the play mat. Helps encourage them to lift their heads!

Soft rattles, there was the is one rattle that was a larger ball but almost looked like a web? They can clutch their little fingers around it and shake like hell. Can’t remember what they’re called to google it.

Go-to baby shower toy is this little pizza teether that’s part silicon part crinkly fabric. Can’t wait to get one for myself lol

Soft, crinkly books. Blocks. Vetch walker (any other STMs have that damn “welcome to our learning farm, we have much to show you!” song stuck in your head??). Bowls/ wooden spoons.

Oof. I am not mentally prepared for the influx of baby toys lol
  • Not a toy, but a toy tip is to do toy rotation. They recommend every 2 weeks or something but who has time for that? I mostly just put a bunch of toys away that she didn't really play with when we got a new box then a month or so later, show her those toys and she'd play with some.
  • @heytallmama sounds like an oball to me!
