I have this weird heart burn feeling in my upper back. Has anyone experienced this?! It happens after I eat and is super painful

@v_flowers from what I have read, BH are pretty common, but many women don't even notice they are having them. I didn't until I was being monitored and told I was having them. I think hydrating and resting/relaxing is the best advice.

@scaredunprepared Thank you for the reassurance and sharing your experience with me. Like you mentioned, BH seems to be a common thing. Of course, I would be one of the lucky ones to feel them at 18 weeks. 🙄

Im going to assume everything is okay. I’m sure they would have had me come in if there was anything to raise a red flag.

I'm 17 weeks, so supposedly in the honeymoon, but the temperature change triggered nausea hasn't let up. I am noticing more differences in this pregnancy than my last 2. I don't have cooked meat aversions. Especially my first pregnancy I couldn't be 2 rooms away from the smell of cooked chicken/beef/venison etc without gagging. Now I just have very little appetite at all. I haven't gained any measurable weight yet, which is probably good because I started overweight, but I have to have something to worry about, right?

@nonlinear_function same on the appetite. It is so frustrating to want nothing.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night with awful pain in my left boob, couldn’t even lay on my left side and it was just throbbing. Messaged my OB this am as if literally feels like someone is standing on my boob and won’t get off. She thinks it could be a clogged milk duct 🙄 apparently rare but can occur in some women during pregnancy. Praying I can work it out with heat and massage and it doesn’t get infected. Totally not fun but hoping this is a good sign for future milk production for me. Anyone else have this now or before?

@peachyalex3 still waiting for the nausea to pass here! I’m 19 weeks tomorrow. At this point I just assume I’ll keep puking till delivery. It’s not as intense as it was, but it comes and goes in waves and I’m always slightly nauseous. It sucks.

I think pregnancy rage is unfortunately one of my ongoing symptoms 😬. Finding it really hard to not get worked up about things that would normally just be small annoyances, but trying to work on it 😅. Then of course there's the off and on itchiness, sore boobs, and still some unexpected food aversions every now and then.

I'm grateful that some others in this thread have mentioned anterior placenta. I could have sworn I felt a flutter very early on, and then a couple times where there was kind of this rhythmic twinge for a few minutes (and I know this wasn't gas haha... Plenty familiar with that sensation!). But since then, nothing, so I've been doubting whether it was actually movement. But both times the midwife has used the doppler, including last week, she's noticed that 1) it's tough to find the heartbeat immediately and 2) the baby is moving around a lot. She suggested that I might have my placenta to the front and that hopefully I'll be able to find that out at our detailed ultrasound next week. So I guess it's normal if I'm not feeling those flutters yet at 18 weeks, right?

@flowerchild2022 well you certainly aren't alone. It's a bit unnerving but I think it's pretty normal, especially if you do end up having an anterior placenta.

TMI ahead lol: I have noticed that during segsy time with hubby or if I'm getting into it on my own, that's when I have felt movement! Wtf??? Lol so weird that I literally haven't felt anything for what feels like weeks then all of a sudden 2 or 3 days in a row I feel it when I'm getting naughty.... either baby REALLY doesn't want us getting down, or maybe I'm just extra sensitive and clued in to that part of my anatomy at those moments???

@scaredunprepared lol I can see that. I have not been into any type of seggsy stuff for weeks (poor husband) so I can’t back up that theory!

I feel kicks mostly when my son is excited and loud, yelling and laughing. Either baby girl wants to play with her brother, or she’s already trying to fight him

Okay, since you've mentioned it, can we just talk about sex and not feeling it? I mean, at first, both H and I were worried about potential bleeding, so we didn't. And now, my boobs are sensitive, and I'm super itchy and hells... I just don't feel like getting it on. And I feel guilty about that. H hasn't complained about it (he's a very understanding man), but I want to want to have sex! Blergh!

@acleverusername my husband hasn’t complained either, I just feel bad! I was like this last time too, as soon as I got pregnant I had zero libido. I don’t want to and I feel gross. I think we had sex maybe twice up until the anatomy scan, and then I was put on pelvic rest until week 36 because the placenta was close to the cervix. I just felt relief.

I know a high libido while pregnant is super common but for me it’s the exact opposite. I’m tired, nauseous, I have gross bacne and I feel completely indifferent to sex. I don’t even miss it.

@etnyah I’m so glad I’m not alone in that! I have 0 interest in sex I’m just so tired and having a sick kid in addiction to pregnancy is a whole new level of exhausted. I feel so bad because we were doing it so often when we were TTC.

I am right there with you all, too. I feel bad for H, but I just haven't had the energy to be into sex. Like mentally I really want to get there and be able to have that kind of intimacy (I realize that there are plenty of other ways to be intimate, and we are), but I just can't get my body on board. H is very understanding, but man I feel so bad because I know having a new baby in our lives has the potential to make sex harder still for a while.

@flowerchild2022 I had an anterior placenta with my son, and didn't feel movement until maybe 21 or 22 weeks, I think. Definitely after my anatomy scan. But eventually it was super strong, and I could even see his body parts poking out through my skin by the end! So if you do have an anterior placenta, that doesn't mean you won't feel strong movement. It just takes a little longer.

@etnyah and @acleverusername my pregnancy with my son I was totally not into it AT ALL. Nausea, exhaustion, gal bladder pain, heartburn, the lady goes on. Hubby didn't complain because he knew I was miserable, but I could tell he was disappointed because my first pregnancy I was suuuuuper into it all the time. I felt so guilty I cried about it many times. I felt so bad! It's just strange how every pregnancy is different and makes you feel different. This time I don't initiate because I don't feel it, but once he starts I'm all for it. A happy medium lol

@scaredunprepared....same. It's 100% been an on-again-off-again thing for me so far this pregnancy....some weeks I just want nothing to do with it. My partner is great about recognizing when I'm really just not feeling the best, and hasn't complained (bless him)....but maybe 7.5-8/10 he'll initiate and I suddenly find some motivation LOL

I'm so effing itchy. Gaaaaaaah! An my bile acid test results haven't come back yet (apparently they're specialized and could take up to 10 days to result!)

I'm definitely in no mood for sex when I'm itching to get out of my skin (pun intended). H can definitely tell.

Well, good news: bile acid test came back very low, so itchiness must be all in my head. My psychiatrist did point out that it could be due to change of seasons and the fact that we've got heater on in the house now, so let's just assume that's what it is.

@nsk489 so I looked at our gunitait sensor and was actually surprised to see it being on the high end of normal. So I’m not sure it’s a moisture issue. Sigh. I’m hoping it will get better; for now, I’ll just skulk and complain to you all.

Did anyone experience any side effects after getting their flu shot? I just got it yesterday and now having some shortness of breath this morning. Not sure if it's related to the flu shot, something else, or possibly my asthma creeping back up (pregnancy + allergies caused me to develop asthma symptoms last pregnancy and I ended up needing an inhaler 🙄)

@nsk489 I got my flu shot last week and my left ankle swelled up afterward but I didn’t have any trouble breathing. Could be totally unrelated. Interestingly I got my COVID booster Wednesday and my left ankle swelled up again that night too. It’s been ok the other nights though? Maybe I was just drinking extra water those days? Hope you feel better soon and if not maybe get checked out to be safe.

@nsk489 I haven't had any reaction to the flu vaccine. The covid vaccine and booster on the other hand, in out of commission for 2-4 days after

I would get it checked out to be sure and rule out other stuff.
